Brink Preview

Splash Damage won't ring many bells with console gamers. Initially stumbling upon success with a roster of highly acclaimed Quake 3 mods, they became highly respected for creating both Enemy Territory and handling Doom 3's multiplayer component.

Brink Review

When I first played Brink at QuakeCon 2010, I really enjoyed it and was excited about it's eventual release. I was playing the PC version with an Xbox 360 controller and had a great time.
Pros:
  • Single character progression across all modes
  • Objective wheel makes sure you're contributing to the cause
Cons:
  • Campaign is a worthless addition
  • Lackluster weapons and maps
  • Terrible bot AI

  • + Four classes
  • 50-plus abilities
  • an arsenal of customizable weapons
  • and plentiful dress-up options
  • + Atrocious A.I.
Cons:

  • ?

Brink Review

Call of Duty has been a damn good FPS series over the years, but let's face it: it's never been big on promoting teamwork when playing online. Everyone fights for themselves, and the things that most Call of Duty players primarily care about - kill/death ratio, unlocking new stuff, being at the top...

Brink Review

Brink is one of those games that is going to be a love/hate affair depending on who you ask. This is not your standard first-person shooter where fragging online with your pals will be the talk...

  • + The upgrade system
  • + Lots of depth
  • + The art style
Cons:
  • SMART system can be finicky
  • Offline is uninspired
  • Steep learning curve

Brink Review

Back in 2008, DICE released an intriguing first-person anti-shooter called Mirror's Edge. Not without its flaws, the idea of parkour free running from a first-person perspective was a fascinating concept.
