I purchased this kettle a month ago and it is fabulous. It heats up rapidly and is very quite. I love the various temperature selections available for teas, coffee and boiling water. Could not be happier with my purchase and it looks smart also.
The transparent pop up lid came off the kettle because the seal appears to have perished. The kettle often misbehaves with wrong light coming on and erratic on/off. I'm disappointed
"Can't go past this kettle! It's amazing with 5 temperature settings for making the perfect cup not the mention to 20 minute 'keep warm' function for those constantly late down to tea time after you've called them. This kettle has excellent water visibility and is very quiet.
Very happy with this kettle so far. The variable temperature buttons are ideal for me as I drink black coffee and can set that to 90 degrees - no need to add cold water to get the coffee to a drinkable temp after a 100 degree boil.
This kettle is awesome, it's also the exact same one that we replaced after many years of use, that is how much we love it. It's easy to use, bring the water to the exact temperature we need for a cup of tea and it does it quickly. The is also extreme easy to clean and need very little maintenance.
This is the 2nd one I have had. First one bought in 2011. Absolutely love this. Even had to buy one of my daughters one as she was over the moon with it also!
Surprise, surprise, after 18 months our Breville smart kettle has completely stopped working. Planned obsolescence at its finest! Wish I'd read the (many) reviews elsewhere attesting to the poor durability of this product - don't waste your cash
just needed to replace my old breville and it hasn't disappointed - just lots more features
Most of the time we want the lower temperatures that this kettle offer. Wish we could disable the sounds it makes though
