Bose SoundSport Free review: The best wire-free sports earphones by a mile

While the Bose doesn't have some of the smart fitness features you get in the likes of the Lifebeam Vi or Jabra Elite Sport - no heart-rate or cadence measure - we'd still comfortably call the SoundSport Free the best sports earphones for pure music enjoyment.

Great sound; Comfortable to wear for long periods; Battery life is immense; Nifty "find my earbuds" feature; Solid connection

Design means the buds stick out quite a bit; No customisable equaliser; No heart-rate monitor; Buttons are hard to press

Phone Calls Only Come out of One Ear...and other grievances

Do a web search and read some of the issues & comments on the Bose forum before you buy. I wish I had... Do they sound great Yes. Are they comfortable Yes, but not as comfortable as my wired QC20 earbuds and not nearly as comfortable as my old SoundSport earbuds.

Bose SoundSport Free review

Wireless earbuds are quickly becoming one of the most popular types of headphones, especially with so many smartphones ditching the traditional jack output. Bose has made its first ‘truly wireless' in-ears and here's our SoundSport Free review.

Priced at Rs 18,990, it is quite more expensive than the AirPods but it also offers unmatched audio quality. The wireless earbuds fit perfectly in the ear and do not fall out no matter how hard you try.

Comfortable Fit; Fits snug as a bug; Extremely good sound quality; Easy to connect with devices

More expensive than AirPods; Less battery life when compared to competition; No native EQ adjustments via the App

Bose SoundSport Free review: The best-sounding truly wireless earbuds are critically flawed

Truly wireless earbuds are the future of personal audio, and I'm comfortable saying Bose's take on the concept is the best I've used yet - that critical A/V sync issue aside. Yes, they're a bit... obvious, but they sound pretty damn good. $250 good

Sound Good luck finding truly wireless earbuds that sound better than these - you won't, Bluetooth I found the signal very reliable and strong; I had no drops or issues getting the earbuds to pair, Comfort These are even more comfortable than the standard SoundSport Wireless, I barely notice them in...

Price $250; That is not an easy sell, Looks These aren't exactly subtle; I get Bluetooth earpiece flashbacks whenever I wear them, Battery Bose says 5 hours, I found 3.5-4 hours more realistic, Controls Like the SoundSport Wireless, the Free have absolutely terrible, nigh-unusable membrane buttons,...

Just got mine yesterday, read all the reviews, so far so good, the sound is amazing, they sit in your ear perfectly, you cant go wondering to far away or they will disconnect, but again the sound is great, and the fit is perfect for me, they come with a charging case, so you just take them off and...

Bose SoundSport Free review: truly wireless earbuds never sounded so good

But that comes at a cost in more ways than one

Fantastic sound; Water resistant; Rock solid connection

They struggle in loud environments; Don't always sync with video; High price tag

An excellent piece of kit

"An excellent piece of kit. I use them with a Sony NW-A35 Walkman AND they are just terrific. My musical tastes are predominantly classical although jazz features too. I have book readings on it for long-haul flying.

Bose SoundSport Free true wireless headphones review: These splash-proof earbuds will please athletes and audiophiles

At $249, the Bose SoundSport Free are expensive: you can find a number of competent true wireless headsets for significantly less.

Expensive; Larger than most hardware in its class; Designed to allow outside sound in-may not appeal to all listeners

Priced at $249, Bose's SoundSport Free true wireless headphones cost close to $100 more than Apple's $160 AirPods. But depending on where and how you plan on using them, we feel that Bose's first stab at wireless headphones are certainly worth the money.

Forward-sounding bass; excellent balance of mids and highs; Outstanding Bluetooth connectivity; IPX4 weather resistance; Provide good situational awareness for runners; 15 hours total battery life; charging case battery included
