A slight step-down from the previous add-ons but sill leagues above most other DLC, even if the whole great white hunter shtick sometimes seems ill-advised.

The new levels look good and the side quests and new wildlife are excellent; More great dialogue and gags, and some of the series' best boss battles

This one time, I tried playing through Borderlands 2 alone. It didn't go particularly well. I wandered around a lot, ran from one quest marker to another like a headless chicken. I shot some enemies, ducked behind cover when things got a little too crazy, then emerged to shoot some more.

Mercenary Day is easily the most successful of Borderlands 2's Headhunter Packs, thanks to how well it captures the wit and creativity of the series. I'm not really a fan of Sir Hammerlock - in fact, he's probably the only character in the first game I didn't like. I get that the game was going for an "old bean by jove" gentlemanly hunter type, but I felt like he was mostly just a walking trope.

This game is super fun and has a ton of entertainment value. Some pretty disturbing themes, so its Mature rating is pretty well earned. Great co-op multi player campaign. I miss having bloodwing from the first game though. One slight drawback is its backwards compatibility with XBOX one.

FPS/RPG We need guns. Lots of guns. As much as we gushed ourselves daft over the original , at least until the frankly terrible DLC spoiled the party, we did always wish for a bit more in the way of variation.

Fans of the original Borderlands will know just how a good a job Gearbox did with the subsequent DLC packs. There were four in total, each one offering something a little fresh and quirky to the main tale, adding many more hours to the overall game and all with tongue wedged firmly in cheek.
