Borderlands 2 Review
In an ideal world, a sequel should build on the original, but still create an experience that's new, yet immediately recognisable. It's a fine balancing act that not many sequels or prequels can achieve.

Borderlands 2 review: Huge scale and loot addiction papers over the cracks
Light on story and heavy on guns. Borderlands 2 is saved from XP strip-mining by a sharp sense of humour and a slick, destructive multiplayer.

- Utterly compelling

Borderlands 2
The only downside here is that at some point the game may still feel like you're going through yet another generic loot fest, ultimately offering very little substance to those gamers who expect a richer story and a connection with the in-game characters.
Pros:
- This is a decent sequel that expands on a lot of the original's virtues
- more to enjoy here than before
- cool atmosphere and a great mix of FPS action and RPG gameplay

- Not as exciting in single-player as it could've been

- The texture popping, the confusing navigational system, the lack of real character and vehicular appearance customization, the re-spawn of enemies can be repetitive
- Some dialogue is not funny but downright disturbing.

Better than the critics say
This game is not as bad as all the ratings give it. The controls issue is a little bit annoying but can be easily remedied by using the options and changing the control scheme. I found that mapping grenades to the O button was effective, and I haven't had problems on the back touch screen.

FPS/RPG We need guns. Lots of guns. As much as we gushed ourselves daft over the original , at least until the frankly terrible DLC spoiled the party, we did always wish for a bit more in the way of variation.
