Revisiting Pandora's Vault – Borderlands 2

Funny thing about writing reviews – when your subject isn't on your most-wanted list, it's a little easier to be objective, but more importantly it means to don't have to plow through your favorite titles at breakneck speed.

Doesn't suffer from Consoleportitis; Gameplay is Borderlands 1 evolved; Guns; guns; guns; Achievements improve gameplay; Lots to do; lots to see; Presentation is slick

Some minor bugs got through; Fair amount of fetch quests; Inventory management can take up a lot of your time

Borderlands 2 (PC) Review

Gearbox delivers a much improved PC version of Borderlands. Find out how good in our review.

+ Funny dialog and wonderful style; + PC customization options; + Streamlined menus and quests; + Solid shooting; + Great RPG elements; + Fun co-op

Single player can become difficult; Many loot drops are worthless; Texture popin and graphical glitches

Borderlands 2

Intangible rewards are all well and good, but a huge part of the Borderlands formula is loot, and Borderlands 2 does not disappoint. Guns, shields, grenade mods, class mods, and relics all offer different ways to enhance your combat effectiveness.

A ton of great mission writing and dialogue; Enticing loot and experience rewards; Intriguing skill trees; Rich; inviting gameworld

Spoken messages sometimes interrupt each other; One character ability is not substantially different from the core gunplay

There were a lot of things that made Borderlands such a great game when it came out three years ago: the hardscrabble planet, the oddball characters, the hostile creatures, the diverse missions, the abundant loot, the powerful skill trees, and the novelty of all these things combined in a...

Borderlands 2

Returning to Pandora feels like visiting a favourite holiday destination. You've enjoyed the scenery, met some of the local inhabitants, made some great new friends, and above all had a great time. The fact that it hasn't changed much since my last visit is fine by me.

Controls and gameplay mechanics have been left largely identical to the original; breeding a sense of familiarity

Inventory management can be a pain; especially before you get used to the gun types

Borderlands 2 Review (PC)

Three years ago, Gearbox Software delighted first-person shooter fans with Borderlands, a shooter that felt and acted like a massive dungeon-crawling role-playing game filled with all sorts of loot and had a distinct cooperative-focused campaign.

+Gameplay emphasizes variety in builds and characters; +Impressive story with likeable and hateable characters; +Great graphics and stunning environments

-Can still be tough for beginners; -Some missions require lots of backtracking; -Texture pop-in is still present

Borderlands 2 Review (PC)

Welcome back to Pandora Borderlands 2 stands as only the second game in its genre, really – an FPS with RPG elements and insane loot-styled overtones, wrapped in a black-comedy packet with a cartoon style.

Wide; open gameplay married to clever gun physics creates a true unique FPS experience; brilliant world and characters that evoke empathy without laying on the schmaltz; obscene amount of weapon variance makes every pickup a new experience; looks and sounds amazing; huge and diverse; Handsome Jack...

Death animations are a bit tedious; occasionally picking up a new gun can drop difficulty for a short time; if you don't enjoy shooting there isn't much else to do…

OXCGN's Borderlands 2 Review: Opening Pandora's Box

The year is 2009. Gearbox Software , known for Brothers in Arms, releases a zany, satirical FPS/RPG hybrid known as Borderlands . Described as the world's first "shooter looter," Borderlands was a very successful title with an emphasis on cooperative play, and above all, fun.

Great fun game, lots of things to do

I have been playing Borderlands 2 sine the release and it is a pretty good game. It is a lot of fun, And even more fun when with another person. My only problem is that it is very similar to the original, it feels almost like an expansion. Nothing really changed too much.

Borderlands 2

Gearbox Entertainment and 2K Games take you back to Pandora with Borderlands 2, the sequel to the hit apocalyptic RPG-shooter that isn't Fallout. It's five years later, Pandora has changed, and there are more Vaults to hunt.

Small improvements vastly enhance the game; Great, dark sense of humor.

The combination of RPG and FPS aspects can be tiring when you're plowing through dozens of bandits
