Bloodborne Review - The Most Dangerous Game

Bloodborne is in the unenviable position of being a great game that's not quite as great as its predecessors. Making the game more accessible was probably necessary, especially since Bloodborne isn't just another action/RPG - it's one of the selling points of buying a PS4 instead of an Xbox One.

Gorgeous; interconnected world; Exciting; fast combat; Eerie sound and visuals; Weird characters and lore

Not as complex as predecessors; Some graphical oddities

Bloodborne Review

Demon's Souls' eventual success was a slow burn, but it was not a fluke. The Souls series is a full-blown phenomenon now, and the mania has peaked with Bloodborne . Thanks to the intriguing new Victorian setting and some really effective marketing on Sony's part, tons of new players are experiencing...

Hyper challenging gameplay; Incredibly atmospheric world; Gorgeous graphics and sound; Amazing enemy design

Unintelligible story; Stripped-down customization; Little gameplay variety; Rife with bugs and design issues

Bloodborne Review

If Dark Souls were a man transforming into a beast, its name would be Bloodborne . All rational, spiritual, methodical thought begins to bleed out, as an insatiable hunger gnaws its away at the walls of the mind.

Dark story on lycanthropy; Eerie atmospheric and sound design; Barren environment; grotesque enemy design; Brutally difficult; just the way you like it; Co-op; PvP; Chalice Dungeons; Insight system

Blood vials not as great as Estus Flasks; Firearm counter not that reliable; Long loading times; can't jump between lamps in one shot; Tags

Bloodborne

Many games nowadays are criticized for being too easy, but Dark Souls was a great example which clearly showed that the RPG genre can still bring in quite a challenge. Bloodborne is created by From Software, the same company that brought in the aforementioned title, and despite the change of style,...

PlayStation 4 Bloodborne (Game of the Year Edition) BLOODBORNE GOTY review

I suppose I should start off by saying that I’m not a veteran Souls player. I did play Dark Souls a bit on the PC, but the conversion was fairly bad from the console so I didn’t really get what I think would have been an otherwise good experience.

A great, challenging

A great, challenging, and unforgiving game. 10/10. If you're planning to buy, get it with the DLC, as the DLC costs another Rs. ~1700 bought separately (on PSN)

PlayStation 4 Bloodborne (Game of the Year Edition) BLOODBORNE GOTY review

With every game of his that releases, it becomes increasingly remarkable what Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team at From Software have accomplished with the Souls series. These titles really do constitute their own subgenre; the heavy combat, winding level design and minimalist storytelling methods are...

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Review

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is worth your time and money if you enjoyed the base game. For the most part, it's more of the same done better. The environments and some of the bosses are a cut above, enemy placement and interaction really stuck out, and wreaking havoc with the new weapons is almost...

The new areas are creepier than anything in vanilla Bloodborne; The rivers of gore, background elements that move and struggle on their own, and unsettling noises will feel somewhat nostalgic for Souls fans who remember the unpleasantness of Demon's Souls' Tower of Latria, New enemies are incredibly...

One of the bosses is incredibly annoying; Not just because he's difficult, but because he has a wonky hit box, an attack that can sometimes register multiple hits if it catches you wrong, and he constantly wails and shrieks in a way that grates on the nerves quickly.
