I walk through the hallways of a Victorian hamlet, cautiously advancing, mindful of even the slightest shift of a shadow in the dull moonlight. It is the night of the hunt, where beasts roam the streets and civilians hide inside, in fear of the lycans and crazed, plague-infested madmen.

Framerate can get spotty in some areas; Load times range from short inconvenience to almost a full minute wait

Bloodborne is a 3rd person action RPG that follows the tradition of games like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. It is difficult and unforgiving. Mistakes in combat are punished harshly and enemies respawn when you die. Healing items are limited and you can even lose unspent experience points.

I suppose I should start off by saying that I’m not a veteran Souls player. I did play Dark Souls a bit on the PC, but the conversion was fairly bad from the console so I didn’t really get what I think would have been an otherwise good experience.

Bloodborne has all the flavors and trimmings From Software fans have come to savor. A high risk/reward system, unrelenting difficulty, imposing and creative boss fights, an obtuse narrative, and unconventional combat.

Hidetaka Miyazaki's Bloodborne is what many people consider the next successor to his "Souls" series, which began with Demon's Souls and was followed up with the massively popular Dark Souls .
