BlackBerry Torch 9800 Review

While Blackberry has an unrivalled cabinet of QWERTY smartphones, it's had a hard time shaking off its businessy rep. The Storm and Storm 2 were its first attempts at providing an alternative to the iPhone, but still felt like a CEO awkwardly wearing a party hat and schmoozing with the company...

The best BB ever

It is great - has a full size touch screen and also a slid-under keyboard. Too bad none of the newer models are built like this.

Overpriced!!

I found this slider to be too overpriced for the kind of specifications it was coming with. There were no extraordinary features as such that it has to be so overpriced. The apps are nice and by looks wise too it is really cool.

Amazing

I have loved the blackberry brand of phones for about 18 months now and I currently have a Curve 8900 on contract, however I will be cancelling it to receive this amazing phone and having tested an early model I can say it meets all expectations!

Great Blackberry Product

I can usually go 2 days without charging it. Very crisp clear display. The calls are OK, but the speaker needs to be louder. Very easy to use. I have dropped it numerous times. The "paint" has chipped in a few places but the Blackberry is still working fine. Well designed.

stay connected

I upgraded my phone contract last year to get a HTC wildfire phone but I wasn't with the phone for too long as it was stolen a few months later whilst I was sitting my end of year exams. I had to go back to using one of my old phones and I wasn't too pleased about it.

Its ok.

Actually, I bought this phone for my niece to use in the caribbean. She needed an upgrade and decided on the black berry torch. Its been a good but so far except for the the earphone, it doesn't work. She has tried multiple earpieces, seems there's a problem with that hole.

Blackberry Torch review

Weighing 161g, it feels substantial (compared to 135g for the Desire and 137g for the iPhone 4) the sliding keyboard making it a chunky 15mm deep. One side includes a 3.5mm jack, volume controls and the camera button, the other micro SD, while lock and mute buttons are positioned on the top.
