BlackBerry Torch 9800 (AT&T)
The new BlackBerry Torch 9800 with BlackBerry 6 keeps RIM in the smartphone game. It's the first truly usable touch screen BlackBerry, and it's packed with new features-a new Web browser, new apps, a new interface, and new social networking hooks. It might even save you money.
Pros:
- Looks and feels good
- Lots of new features
- Integrates social-networking well
Cons:
- Browser still slower than iPhone 4
- Fewer games and apps than iOS or Android
- Poor Microsoft Exchange integration for consumers

BlackBerry Torch 9800 review: BlackBerry Torch 9800
Though performance could be better and it could stand for some hardware upgrades, the RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry OS 6 offer much-needed improvements to stay in step with the competition, and keep BlackBerry enthusiasts happy.
Pros:
- The RIM BlackBerry Torch combines both a touch screen and full QWERTY keyboard
- BlackBerry OS 6 brings such improvements as a better user interface, universal search, and an improved browser and multimedia experience.
Cons:
- The smartphone can be sluggish
- The Torch has a lower-resolution screen
- Applications can be saved only to the phone's main memory
- Camera shoots only VGA video.

RIM BlackBerry Torch 9800 (preview)
The BlackBerry Torch 9800 might be the best BlackBerry ever, but we think at its core it is generally the same as most other BlackBerrys. It possesses an excellent keyboard and great e-mail capabilities, but boasts nothing really new or innovative. The Torch offers little incentive to switch from the iPhone or an Android smartphone, but BlackBerry users will probably find it a compelling upgrade. When you have a product that has been successful for several years, but has fallen somewhat behind the times, it can be difficult to figure out what to change and what to leave alone.
Pros:
- Good keyboard, excellent e-mail, responsive touchscreen, decent build quality, revamped OS, universal search, improved Web browser
Cons:
- Physical design could use an overhaul, large and top-heavy, lack of customisation of app "drawers", UI lacks consistency, lower resolution display than competitors

BlackBerry Torch 9800
The BlackBerry Torch is undeniably the best BlackBerry yet. RIM has managed to keep it familiar, yet fresh, to paraphrase their CEO. That should be good enough to hold onto existing BlackBerry users (and there are a lot of you), but we doubt they'll steal many iPhone and Android customers.
