BlackBerry / Android / Security
What a great mix of BlackBerry software on a full Android offering. Love the size, thinness and near stock Android experience. All this at a great price. Nice to see BlackBerry provide a smart choice for security minded customers.

Love Blackberry
Great Phone. Blackberry always impresses me. Its a shame more people do not give them another chance. Love the phone, the security, the video are awesome. It's just the batterie life that's a little weak.

BlackBerry's inability to find the perfect device for the "budget smartphone" segment has been touted as one of the reasons for the brand's decline in recent years. Ironically, the Canadian brand had its high noon when it released the 8520 in 2009 at a price that was considered staggeringly low in a...

BlackBerry DTEK50 Review
BlackBerry is still in the game and it's using Android to get them back on its feet. If the Priv is way too much for you to enjoy a BlackBerry phone, then the DTEK50 we have here wants to address that concern.
Pros:
- Sturdy build
- Good display
- Great overall performance
- An affordable BlackBerry device
Cons:
- A bit light for our liking
- Additional BlackBerry features are not skin deep
- Lacks a fingerprint scanner
- Average battery life

BlackBerry DTEK50 review: Secure, just not top drawer
BlackBerry has a long tradition of building its own hardware and software, but having fallen on harder times of late, the company was forced to outsource. With the DTEK50, its first mid-range Android phone, it has partnered with TCL Communication and added its own subtle tweaks to a pre-existing...
Pros:
- Lightweight
- comfortable to use
- nice looking screen
- BlackBerry Hub and keyboard are great additions to Android
Cons:
- Performance isn't always reliable due to "pause" issue
- battery life could be better
- higher-end phones available for a similar price

Bought DTek50 from Clove when it came out last year.I agree with other reviewer that Battery life is poor. The size is just right for me ( DTek60 is too large for me).As a former Blackberry OS10 user I like the hub and keyboard.

BlackBerry DTEK50 Smartphone Review
With its slightly awkwardly named DTEK50, BlackBerry probably has the most secure Android smartphone at the starting line. The strengthened Android 6.0 Marshmallow runs encrypted, does not permit any code injections, and only launches when the bootloader has not been compromised.
Pros:
- safest Android smartphone
- bright Full HD panel
- LTE
- accurate GPS
- decent speakers
- long battery life
Cons:
- no fingerprint sensor
- just 9 GB of available storage
- abysmal WiFi data rates
- only mediocre cameras
- high temperature development
- incompatible with several benchmarks

Excellent, secure, all touch BlackBerry
Great screen, speakers, size, weight, security and build quality. The 3GB RAM and 617 Octocore chip are all one needs to efficiently manage and operate this secure mobile device. The expandable (up to 2TB) micro SD is also welcomed.

Why did I decide to buy the BlackBerry DTEK50? I already had a perfectly functioning phone and there were cheaper Android phones out there. I guess my curiosity was piqued when I read about the security features and wanted to see what the fuss was about.
