BlackBerry continues to move away from the troubled past of older ‘Berrys with another strong Android-based offering. Whilst some might consider the lack of a physical QWERTY keyboard and a fingerprint sensor losses, but for £275, you don't just get a competent, elegant-looking Android device, but...
Pros:
- Attractive
- lightweight design
- Great screen
- Smart modifications to Android

BlackBerry / Android / Security
What a great mix of BlackBerry software on a full Android offering. Love the size, thinness and near stock Android experience. All this at a great price. Nice to see BlackBerry provide a smart choice for security minded customers.

BlackBerry DTEK 50 review: You might want to take a look at this phone
BlackBerry DTEK 50 seems like a good buy with a great design and added software and security features.
Pros:
- Well, the one thing that impressed me, even before I switched on the phone, was its build quality
- Here is a phone that does what even the big Android boys have not had the guts to do
- A textured back, solid metal frame and a chassis that gives you the confidence of durability.

With only a few minor issues, the DTEK50 is a pretty good phone. Yes the battery isn't as good as it could be, there's some niggles in the software but it's a good phone. There's always a point in these reviews where you have to ask yourself if you'd recommend the phone and for me the answer is yes.

The BlackBerry DTEK50 will be priced at $300 in the US, and will be available unlocked, and can be used with AT&T and T-Mobile. There you have it for this in-depth look at the BlackBerry DTEK50! $300 is relatively cheap, especially if you want a smartphone that prioritizes security.
Pros:
- Good
- albeit very familiar
- design Lots of useful software features Security is a big priority MicroSD card slot
Cons:
- Lackluster camera Disappointing gaming performance less than average battery life Only 16 GB of internal storage

BlackBerry's second attempt at an Android smartphone lacks the ambition of last year's Priv, but don't get hung up on that. The DTEK50 is a solidly built device with a super-secure foundation, and the company's take on Android continues to impress.

BlackBerry DTek50 Review: Security and Productivity for a Good Price
It's easy to make fun of BlackBerry's embrace of Android in an attempt to revive its business. However, its newest phone, the DTek50, shows that by adding what BlackBerry is known for -legendary security - it can successfully differentiate itself from other smartphones.
Pros:
- Excellent security features
- Great keyboard
- Bright display
Cons:
- No CDMA support
- Below-average battery life

BlackBerry DTEK50 review
The BlackBerry DTEK50 is a good phone. Above average, even. But we can't fully recommend it because of the way BlackBerry is marketing it. The perhaps incorrect status quo is that people don't want to worry about security; they just want a phone that works.

BlackBerry DTEK50 review
The BlackBerry DTEK50 is the world's most secure Android smartphone. So says the Canadian firm at least. It's a compelling claim too, as concern over personal security on mobile devices has never been higher – and the DTEK50 looks to play on that insecurity in people's minds by offering solid specs...
