BlackBerry Bold 9780 (T-Mobile) review
We recently received the BlackBerry Bold 9780 from T-Mobile, which is an update of the original Bold 9700 that features the new BlackBerry 6 smartphone operating system and a 5 megapixel camera.
RIM BlackBerry Bold 9780
RIM takes the Bold and makes it even better, but there isn't much on offer for upgraders
RIM BlackBerry Bold 9780 (T-Mobile)
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 is boring, but in a good way. It's a smartphone of simple pleasures: clear calls, solid syncing, and sharp Web pages. It fits in your pocket well and you won't need to charge it too often. It makes the cut for our list of Phones With the Best Battery Life .- Solid voice quality
- Sharp screen
- Wi-Fi calling
- Syncs locally with PCs
- Few apps
- Poor Exchange support for consumers
BlackBerry Bold 9780 review
After using the Bold 9780 for a while though, it's clear that this is a minor update. Very welcome, but unlikely to have Bold 9700 users rushing to break their contracts. With the exception of a dark ring around the edge the handset looks virtually identical to the previous Bold and that's about it.- Excellent keyboard
- Better browser
- More customisation

BlackBerry Bold 9780 review
We review the BlackBerry Bold 9780 - the latest edition to RIM's Bold series, but does the Bold 9780 have what it takes to usurp the hugely popular Bold 9700?- Good camera
- decent Qwerty keyboard
- 32GB of storage
- solid build quality
- Far too similar to the Bold 9700 - it's essentially the same device
RIM BlackBerry Bold 9780 Review
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 will look awfully familiar to anyone who has used 9700. What's new? Well, the camera has been cranked up to 5 megapixels from 3, the RAM has been increased to 512 MB from 256, and it comes running BlackBerry 6 right out of the box.- Excellent battery life
- Tried-and-true form factor
- Solid (if mostly superficial) enhancements in OS 6
- Currently limited app support
- A bit boring for the average consumer
its just an amazing phone for texting (bbm), emailing and calling.....looks great!
just bought it last week and cant beat the price at 124.95...difference between this phone and the bold 9700 is that it weighs a little bit less, 5mp camera as opposed to 3.15. The 9780 offers blackberrys new os 6.0.
BlackBerry Bold 9780 review
A great update to the Bold line, thanks to BlackBerry 6.
BlackBerry Bold 9780
The BlackBerry Bold 9780 takes RIM's flagship QWERTY device - the Bold 9700 - gives it a fresh new operating system with BlackBerry 6 and spits out a practically identical handset.- Keyboard
- email service
- camera is improved
- screen good despite size
- battery life
- Poor video offering
- some of BB 6 seems better suited to touch control
- app offering isn't all BB 6 compatible
BlackBerry Bold 9780 review Review
With enhanced RAM and the BlackBerry 6 OS, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is an improvement on its predecessor, but it's certainly not going to recapture market share lost to iOS and Android handsets.- Fantastic Qwerty keyboard
- Solid build quality
- Universal search is powerful
- BlackBerry 6 OS needs a touchscreen
- Feels outdated
- Video recording is poor
