Great case, sleek and matte finished. Only real concern was this was the first case I've had where the cable management didn't have any rubber fills/holes.
Sleek; matte finish
cable management internally

Following on from my last sub £60 case review (The Corsair SPEC-03 ATX gaming case), today is the turn of BitFenix and to be more specific, the Shadow which currently retails for £55 from Overclockers UK and has a plethora of features.
I have really enjoyed my time with the BitFenix Shadow, and if someone asked why, it would be difficult for me to answer; there's just something really cool about its simple yet elegant styling, that seems to make it stand out from the crowd…
No longer a peasant to the local enthusiasts, Bitfenix's chassis has proven itself worthy with outstanding quality and just within a short period, it has become one of the most recommended chassis among PC builders.
Solid build quality; Compatible with wide range of components; Good appearance; LED color switching; Tool-free drive bay; Solid and easy to close side panels; Affordable
Limited space at the back of the motherboard for cable routing; No noise dampening feature on the fan filter at the bottom of the chassis; Limited choice of LED color; Awkward expansion slot securing mechanism
Bought this case for a new build using the Asus pro gamer mainboard, the intel i7 devils canyon cpu, corsair cx750 psu and liquid cooling. First off I will state that the only easy liquid cooling option is for a system with a 120mm radiator.
The BitFenix Shadow looks pretty sweet with its dual LED lighting element in the front, which can be toggled off, red, or blue. Is the chassis able to shine or will it have to stay in the shadows due to shortcomings?
Nifty light with blue; red; or off mode; Door with plenty of space behind it for fan controllers; Long graphics cards easily fit; Two 120 mm fans included; Well-rounded I/O; All-black cabling inside; Screw-less locking mechanism for 3.5" and 5.25" bays; 2.5" mounting position on floor; Dust filters...
Very basic OEM frame and interior; Very soft; all-plastic front door; Virtually no cable routing space; No grommets on opening of motherboard tray; Long graphics cards block 3.5" drive bays; All-plastic locking mechanism no good; No space above the motherboard; Door only opens to the left
