The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim takes place two hundred years after Oblivion.  Instead of portals to the underworld opening up, dragons are suddenly appearing and are laying waste to helpless towns not equipped to handle their attacks.  That's where you, the Dragonborn, come into this epic story.

Vast and beautiful world to explore with many caves, dungeons, and crypts to delve into;  Great story, voice acting, and artificial intelligence makes this game fun and believable

It's not as graphically ground breaking as I would have hoped, but the world is still well designed and breathtaking regardless;  The menu system is crippled and is an obvious port from the console versions of the game

Test Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Review

Ah, Bethesda.  What can be said about Skyrim that hasn't already been said about 2006's ultra-powerhouse hit Oblivion ? Well as it turns out, quite a lot can be said because the anticipation for the latest Elder Scrolls was met with an astonishing result that despite being tremendously similar to...

Skyrim is a hundred kinds of fun, and it never slows down; Even repeating quests can be enjoyable with a different character with a different approach to interaction and combat.

Glitches may have you wondering what's going to go wrong next; but most are not so bad that they will hurt your gameplay - except on the PS3 where it does affect the quality of your experience

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn (DLC) Review

We take the latest Skyrim DLC for a spin. Find out if the trip back in is worth the price of admission.

+ Incredible environments; + Great; different; main quest; + Tons of memorable side content; + Large new geographic area to explore

Dragon Riding is a disappointment; Main boss fight is a little underwhelming; Some occasional glitches

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Review

Skyrim's fornaldarsagas (Norse myths) are wet fantasy watercolors. Dragons circle the icy fortress of Himinbjorg, raining fiery breath on the svelte Nordic swimsuit models below, but the old flying lizards tremble at the liberal brush, extinguishing red hot flames with electric blues.

Mammoth artist's canvas; Rich player customization; Emergent narratives abound

Short 'main' story; Rare glitches

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Skyrim is the rare gaming experience that may come along only once in the life of a console. Bethesda's carefully crafted world is utterly encapsulating, irresistibly compelling, and a blissful place to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours. The attention to detail in this land is astounding.

Consistently compelling quests; Rich; convincing world design; Combat is more visceral

A.I; could use an overhaul

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Listen to fans of Bethesda's fantasy RPG series wax rhapsodic about past deeds in Tamriel, and you might expect celestial horns to accompany the latest Elder Scrolls game. Perhaps the heavens should celebrate: Skyrim deserves every last note of jubilant fanfare.

+ Huge and beautiful world of rich culture, rewarding quests, and unpredictable encounters, + Eminently versatile and entertaining combination of melee, magic, stealth, and ranged combat, + Epic battles against fearsome dragons; flexible skill progression; deep crafting systems

? Why can't you jump while sprinting

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The defining element of Skyrim is the choices that are given to players in every conceivable way. Weapon upgrades, character development, storyline progress, solving quests, exploration, NPC interaction, are all impressively crafted elements that almost feel like separate games molded into one...

A detailed and beautiful-looking world with so many secrets you are left to discover when and how you wish; great story and characters keep you interested in the game; a brilliant soundtrack and good voiceovers; solid side-quests; commendable variety in gameplay mechanics that leads to virtually...

Encountering dragons randomly in the world gets a bit dull sometimes; friendly AI behaves awkwardly; other minor technical issues

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Review

A monumental achievement from top to bottom , The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim stands as one of the greatest interactive experiences ever created.

Incomparable detail in world; Quests are plentiful and meaningful; Combat is visceral

Difficulty can spike dramatically; Loads can become obtrusive

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

A reader request came in for The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. Our editor in chief purchased the game and I drew the shortest straw. Thus I am reviewing it. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is a role playing game told in the first person perspective. It is medieval times where magic and dragons are dangers.
