Pros:
  • Refined design with exposed metal and matte finish
  • Active noise cancelation is good
  • Transparency mode for external audio
  • Improved audio quality
  • Audio sharing
  • Hey Siri support

Beats Solo Pro

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: From an audio perspective, the Beats Solo Pro headphones handle bass well without going overboard. The noise cancellation can't quite compete with Bose's two heavy hitters, the $350 QuietComfort 35 II and the $400 Noise Cancelling Headphones 700, though you can argue that, at $50 to $100 less, it...
Pros:
  • Powerful audio performance with boosted bass and sculpted highs
  • Solid noise cancellation blocks out low-frequency rumble
  • Voice control option for iOS devices
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • No track navigation buttons
  • Noise cancellation adds slight hiss
  • No ANC or EQ adjustments

Beats by Dr. Dre Solo Pro

★★★★★ 4.5
Verdict: The next popular on-ear variant of the Beats headphone range should actually be the Solo 4, but the Apple division has instead put a "Pro" on the table – for good reason. If "Pro" equates with "progress", then this pretty much applies to a product that, in this fourth version, can finally be...

  • Impressive active noise-cancelling (ANC
  • Battery life lives up to expectations

  • A little pricey
  • Non-adjustable equaliser (EQ

Beats Solo Pro review: The best Beats yet

★★★★★ 5.0
Verdict: They might not be as comfortable or as spacious-sounding as rivals from Bose and Sony, but it's hard not to be impressed by the Beats Solo Pro. They deliver emphatically in the areas people care most about and the price is competitive, too.
Pros:

  • Excellent ANC
  • Great sound quality
Cons:
  • No auto-pause
  • No ANC adjustment
  • ANC doesn't work well in wind

Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphone - Black MRJ62FE/A review

★★★★ 4.0
With the Solo Pro, Beats has ditched the bass boost and delivered an accomplished set of headphones. They can't quite match up to the Sony WH-1000XM3, which come in at a similar price, but if you're a fan of Beats headphones then the Solo Pro are worth considering
Pros:
  • Superb transparency mode
  • Good active noise cancellation
  • Balanced tone
  • particularly for Beats
Cons:
  • Go over-ear and you get bigger sound
  • same price
  • Tight grip may be a turn-off

Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphone - Black MRJ62FE/A review

★★★★ 4.0
So, should you buy the Solo Pros? If you don't mind their on-ear design, the Solo Pros are an excellent pair of noise-cancelling headphones. But if you can spare another $100, we recommend the Bose 700s, which are a lot more comfortable and have better sound quality.
Pros:
  • Very good audio quality
  • Effective noise cancellation
  • Super-simple pairing
  • Iconic Beats design
  • Fun color options
Cons:
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Tight clamping force

Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphone - Black MRJ62FE/A review

★★★★ 4.0
The Beats Solo Pros don't really do anything new. There’s no groundbreaking technology on offer here, and no brilliant new design. We’ve seen all these individual features and functions before, and the design, while nicely tweaked from the Solo 3, is still very familiar.
Pros:
  • Lots of available colors
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Very good sound quality
  • H1 chip for hands-free Siri and easy syncing
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • Doesn't fit very large heads well

Beats Solo Pro Wireless Noise Cancelling On-Ear Headphone - Black MRJ62FE/A review

★★★★ 4.1
The Solo Pro is Beats most impressive set of headphones to date. There’s a lot of features and tech packed in for solid noise cancellation, hands-free Siri and great sound quality. However, the nature of the on-ear design is that they have to pinch your head for a good seal.
Pros:
  • Excellent sound
  • Improved design

Cons:

  • No 3.5mm jack for wired use

Pros:

Beats Solo Pro review

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: There’s a lot to love about the Beats Solo Pro, particularly if you’re an iPhone owner. They offer a lovely design, good noise cancelling, an energetic, detailed performance and outstanding usability. However, while we know Apple is keen to make wireless the way to listen to music, the lack of cable to listen to these wired if you’re out of battery is frustrating. Plus that fit is still far too snug to be comfortable enough for long listens. We can only hope they’ll soften over time, but you’ll have to make do with sore ears for a while to get there if they do. Those niggles aside, these are the best sounding, most well rounded Beats the company has made to date, with a performance worthy of their premium price tag. We’d say that’s a new reputation the company can really be proud of.
Pros:
  • Detailed
  • Engaging sound
  • Good noise cancelling,
  • Attractive design
  • Good battery life and fast charging
Cons:
  • Snug fit isn’t the most comfortable
  • No way of listening wired out of the box

Beats Solo Pro Review

★★★★ 4.0
Verdict: The Beats Solo Pro headphones delivers quality noise cancellation with a bass-forward, but relatively balanced, sound signature.
With the Solo Pro headphones, Beats essentially takes the popular Solo3 Wireless and adds active noise cancellation (ANC). At $299.95, they're priced to compete with top noise-cancelling models like the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. Neither Bose nor Beats are known for accurate audio performance, though here Beats delivers a boosted-bass sound signature that manages to keep the overall listening experience balanced and clear. From an ANC standpoint, Beats isn't quite on par with Bose, but you're also paying less. That said, the price still feels a bit high, though as with Bose, popular branding comes with its own premium. Ultimately, the headphones deliver more than just a familiar logo, with effective ANC and powerful audio that will appeal to bass lovers. Design Available in black, dark blue, gray, ivory, light blue, or red, the Solo Pro are on-ear (supra-aural) headphones with ample memory foam cushioning in the earpads and headband. They're bulky, but comfortable over...
Pros:
  • Powerful audio performance with boosted bass and sculpted highs
  • Solid noise cancellation blocks out low-frequency rumble
  • Voice control option for iOS devices
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • No track navigation buttons
  • Noise cancellation adds slight hiss
  • No ANC or EQ adjustments

Beats Solo Pro Headphones Are on Sale for the First Time

★★★★★
When they first came out in 2008, Beats headphones were cool and eccentric but looked plastic-y and had too much bass to be enjoyable. Beats has toned it down and perfected noise cancellation over the years, but many of us are still rocking an old pair because $300 headphones are a lot to replace. If you've been putting that purchase off, be glad you waited: The Beats Solo Pro that just came out in October 2019 are currently $50 off at Amazon. At $249.95, they're cheaper than the Studio3, which are Beats' only other pair of noise-canceling headphones. According to Amazon price tracker CamelCamelCamel, this is the first time they've been discounted since their release. The Beats Solo line hadn't seen an upgrade in three years and Beats went hard on this massive redesign. They're chic, matte, minimalistic, and look more "pro" than Beats ever have. The active noise cancellation creates the same silent euphoria that everyone loved about the Studio3, now compacted into a practic...
