Small issues aside, Battlefield 1 marks an impressive, risk-taking reinvention for the series. That the multiplayer is as good and distinctive as it is is less surprising than a campaign that takes a difficult setting and navigates it with skill and invention.

The timing of the next part of DICE's incredibly popular multiplayer war series could not have been better. The first seeds of what would become Battlefield 1 were sown back in 2008, we were told visiting the Stockholm offices.
But saying that, warfare has never looked so good. Battlefield 1 is brutally beautiful, even if you're just admiring the emotional power of a shelled-to-shit landscape that was once a picturesque village.
Those little ticks belie the fact this is a very familiar game given a fetching new outfit. This is the same old Battlefield in well-pressed slacks, a little more stately and a lot more composed than it's been in some time, with better manners to boot.

When the opposition pushes all of its war assets toward one beachhead, sometimes it's smarter to avoid that fight altogether and make headway by creating another front. why would I buy this from newegg at standard price? seriously? I like newegg. bought lots of things from them. I get every email advert hoping for that perfect deal for next project or upgrade. I see battlefield 1 and click for details. I click. standard price? wtf?

When EA first announced Battlefield 1 , I had concerns over how they were portraying the Great War. I wasn't the only one who expressed misgivings, and others have put forth their opinion in the past week.
