Battleborn

2K and Gearbox released Battleborn on May 3rd for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The main reason I was drawn to Battleborn was due to some of the similarities it had to the Borderlands series.

New and fresh...

The game is currently in BETA; understood and seeing as how it's new and fresh it's not new enough to keep me interested. Currently there seem to been random issues with servers that cause long queue times.

Battleborn

Battleborn mixes the FPS and MOBA genres to produce a game that oozes character and original ideas. Just don't expect to love it straightaway.

Crazy cast of characters; The depth of strategy; Perfecting your character build; Striking visuals

The lack of teamwork; Sporadic technical hitches

Battleborn

There comes a time in every successful game studio's life, when the team has to make the difficult decision between creating a "sure thing" sequel to a prior title or venturing out into the unknown and creating something new. This is the conundrum that faced the folks over at Gearbox Software.

The humor and art style set an amazing tone for this lighthearted slaughterfest

Most of the core combat mechanics and mission design lack the depth to support the infinite replayability that Gearbox was shooting for

Battleborn Review

The cast of is fantastic; I've enjoyed exploring the ins and outs of characters like the steampunk sniper Marquis and fungal healer Miko, and every time I play I'm focused on earning further access to the unique roster.

Fantastic Heroes; Exciting Leveling System; Some Fun Stages

Repetitive Campaign; Underwhelming Story

Battleborn Review – Absolute Mayhem Overshadows Lack of Innovation

By now you have no doubt heard of Battleborn , the newest multiplayer shooter from Gearbox Software. We've had our eyes on it since October of last year and now that it has finally released I can't help but see the amazing progress this game has made since its early days.

Incredible depth of gameplay; Melds together other genres; Character diversity impactful

Combat almost too hectic; Too many characters locked; No ability to choose all story missions

Battleborn (PlayStation 4) Review

Following up on a successful title that surpassed all performance expectations and also ended up creating an immensely popular franchise is the game industry equivalent of a difficult second album.

Game Review: Battleborn

Battleborn is a cooperative "hero shooter" first and foremost. You can pick from one of 25 (yes 25!) different characters, join up with four other people (or play solo) to fight hordes of enemies across eight massive interlinking campaign missions.

Well presented + 25 characters + Skill tree system works well + Tons of in-game character content + Massive Maps

BUGS!; Multiplayer characters don't feel balanced; Replayability Lacking; Visual Overload; Humour Delivery

Battleborn Review

Since the release of Borderlands 2 the goodwill surrounding Gearbox Software as a studio has taken a few hits. Well, one major Aliens: Colonial Marines-sized hit in 2013. Although you could probably chalk that one up to too many cooks, the fact remains that it left a lot of its fans feeling more...

Battleborn Review

Gearbox Software has a problem, and the problem is called Borderlands. While you may view their most successful franchise as a good thing, the fact is that it has become the yardstick by which their f

Fun selection of playable characters; Online modes are solid; Loads to unlock
