On an Island Full of Overdressed Lunatics
Batman: Arkham Asylum has taken me very much by surprise. While it always looked good, I clearly didn't expect such a polished masterpiece. A top contender for Game of the Year and beyond.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman has certainly been through a hell of a lot since he first appeared in a comic book 70 years ago. Not only has he had to endure a campy 60s television series that destroyed the character's dark nature, but he's also been subjected to a brace of hideous Hollywood movies during the latter part...

Batman Arkham Asylum first impressions
Based on previous experience, games based on comics are generally pretty poor. Many are tie-ins from big budget films, meaning constraints such as a tie in storyline and release dates means developers are forced to rush out any old tripe under the official license.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham Asylum is of a rare breed that surfaces every few years. While you don' expect too much from the game, you come to find that it's far beyond anything you could have imagined. Rocksteady Studios should pat themselves on their backs a for a job well done.

Batman Arkham Asylum
Welcome Caped Crusader fans to the freak show that is Batman Arkham Asylum you are in for a treat of the most macabre and darkly twisted kind. If you are a watcher or a fan of Batman: The Animated Series you will be thrilled to know that both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, who play Batman and the...
Pros:
- Villainy at its very best
- Mark Hamill's more vicious take on his Batman The Animated Series Joker stands equally beside Heath Ledger's in my opinion
- But Batman is done right as well.
Cons:
- Although appearances do fool a lot in Arkham, the fact remains the game is in an asylum and the free roaming aspect of other recent blockbuster games is missing here
- It is not an issue for the most part but you do notice the linear nature of the game at times

Get Committed To This Asylum
Arkham Asylum? More like AWESOME ASYLUM! I've witnessed tons of Batman games over the course of my gaming career. While there are some that are excellent (the NES Batman and the SNES Batman Returns brawler) come to mind,) there are also those that are just plain awful (Batman Forever on consoles and...

Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3)
There's a good chance that, by now, you've heard Batman: Arkham Asylum is the absolute best videogame ever created based on a comic book license, but this statement isn't wholly accurate as it limits the bar to which the game can be measured; there haven't been that many great comic book licensed...

The Batman game we've been waiting for
I'm not an avid gamer, more of a casual gamer, which means I'm not that good-hahaha; so my con about being overloaded with enemies or failing stealth missions may not apply to you hardcore gamers out there.
Pros:
- -Looks Fantastic! -Great voice acting (not a stretch considering you have both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil back as Batman and Joker
- respectively) -Good Story -Makes you use your head on some missions instead of just charging in with fists flying all game long -Loads of fun for when you do get to...
Cons:
- -A bit short story wise
- but going back through to find all of the Riddler's challenges, plus the challenges give it good replay value -Can be frustrating at times (being overloaded with enemies, failing the stealth missions over and over and over again
- )) -I wish there were a few more bonus...

You will become the Dark Knight!
I finally downloaded this yesterday (12th aug) and have played it since trying out a vary of attacks on the criminal patients! the reactions during the final part of the demo is amazing. Whilst in Dectective mode (L2 tapped) you can gain information about the surroundings... expecially the patients.
