Metroidvania/3rd Person Action A good Batman game? Sounds like insanity. It's hard to find a good Batman videogame, so hard in fact that if you were inclined to play one you'd have to go all the way back to the late 80′s to find a really good one, probably by Ocean or maybe Sunsoft if you're in...

You don't need to be a fan of Batman to enjoy this excellent third-person action game.
You've heard of Batman no doubt, but if you don't read comics, it's conceivable that you might be unfamiliar with Arkham Asylum. The iconic psychiatric hospital is essentially Gotham City's Alcatraz, and it has housed just about every villain Batman has ever tangled with at one time or another.
Pros:
- Story mode really sucks you in
- Uncomplicated combat is fast-paced and looks fantastic
- Tons of cool stuff to unlock
- including Challenge mode maps
- Audio and visual presentation is uniformly impressive
- You won't want to stop playing even after you've solved all 240 riddles
Cons:
- Too tempting to play through the entire game in detective vision mode
- Supervillains that you don't get to fight feel like missed opportunities

GAME REVIEW – Batman: Arkham?Asylum
With Christopher Nolan successfully rebooting Batman on the silver screen in recent years, the dark knight is pretty hot property right now. I didn't realise before writing this review, but there have actually been a lot of Batman games over the years, usually to tie in with the various film...

Batman Arkham Asylum
Welcome Caped Crusader fans to the freak show that is Batman Arkham Asylum you are in for a treat of the most macabre and darkly twisted kind. If you are a watcher or a fan of Batman: The Animated Series you will be thrilled to know that both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, who play Batman and the...
Pros:
- Villainy at its very best
- Mark Hamill's more vicious take on his Batman The Animated Series Joker stands equally beside Heath Ledger's in my opinion
- But Batman is done right as well.
Cons:
- Although appearances do fool a lot in Arkham, the fact remains the game is in an asylum and the free roaming aspect of other recent blockbuster games is missing here
- It is not an issue for the most part but you do notice the linear nature of the game at times

Batman: Arkham Asylum
It's baffling that we've yet to see a game that does Batman justice, given how easy it seems to put all the right pieces together. Batman: Arkham Asylum is taking a stab, and aiming for the stars with its wholesale raiding of Gotham history.

Batman: Arkham Asylum
It seems in the past year, the big superhero on everybody's mine has been Batman. The Batman R.I.P. arc began in May and by the end of it, we were promised Batman wouldn't be Batman anymore.
Pros:
- Free-flow combat system is nearly flawless
- invisible predator makes you think and act like Batman
- excellent story
- challenge mode makes you want to keep playing
- extras in the game are worth finding
Cons:
- Direction of punches doesn't always respond well to controller inputs

Batman Arkham Asylum Review
Already the highest rated superhero video game, is this a sign of the contemporary ratings system or the quality of the game itself?

Get Committed To This Asylum
Arkham Asylum? More like AWESOME ASYLUM! I've witnessed tons of Batman games over the course of my gaming career. While there are some that are excellent (the NES Batman and the SNES Batman Returns brawler) come to mind,) there are also those that are just plain awful (Batman Forever on consoles and...

On an Island Full of Overdressed Lunatics
Batman: Arkham Asylum has taken me very much by surprise. While it always looked good, I clearly didn't expect such a polished masterpiece. A top contender for Game of the Year and beyond.
