Batman: Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkham Asylum, it's out and it's a superb game. Games Xtreme takes a look at the Dark Knight's adventure on the PS3, PC and Xbox 360

Batman Arkham Asylum

Surprisingly smooth controls on the PC platform makes for a cool Batman experience. If you want to take the Dark Knight for a test drive in this incredible adventure, and you do not have either the PS3 or Xbox 360, you can find the tantalizing PC demo on STEAM.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Not only a brilliantly authentic presentation of its subject matter but a tremendous game in its own right, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a big, clever and finely crafted experience which propels Rocksteady immediately into the realm of triple-A developers. This year's BioShock. That's what it is.

The superbly; nightmarishly realized Arkham; The brutally satisfying stealth and combat; How right the whole thing feels

A couple of unnecessary; overly traditional boss fights; Maybe missing a couple of your favorite villains; Finally finishing it

Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

When it comes to video games, The Dark Knight has been anything but impressive. The ample supply of Batman titles from previous generations have been modest yet not-quite-conclusive stealth titles, with most going in the direction of straight beat-em-up action rather than lurking-in-the-shadows...

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Since his 1939 debut, Batman has always been about one man's struggle with his own demons. You've got Bruce Wayne; Gotham's most well-known millionaire, philanthropist and playboy by day trying to maintain a sense of normalcy while patrolling the streets as a masked vigilante at night.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

The reactions of enemies who know that their colleagues are being picked off one by one adds massively to the feeling that you're playing as a bona fide superhero. As their numbers diminish, enemies become visibly more scared--they start to move around in pairs rather than individually, press up...

Story mode really sucks you in; Uncomplicated combat is fast-paced and looks fantastic; Tons of cool stuff to unlock; including Challenge mode maps; Audio and visual presentation is uniformly impressive; You won't want to stop playing even after you've solved all 240 riddles

Too tempting to play through the entire game in detective vision mode; Supervillains that you don't get to fight feel like missed opportunities

You've heard of Batman no doubt, but if you don't read comics, it's conceivable that you might be unfamiliar with Arkham Asylum. The iconic psychiatric hospital is essentially Gotham City's Alcatraz, and it has housed just about every villain Batman has ever tangled with at one time or another.

Batman Arkham Asylum Review

As far as video games are concerned, Batman hasn't been very lucky. With the exception of a great NES game based on the first Tim...

"Enter The Mad House"

First off, I do not own this game. I have played it for a very long time at a friends house though - I think I spent a bit too long on it actually. Anyway... Batman: Arkham Asylum (BAA) sees you play as Batman on Arkham Island.

Well animated; Fights are glorious

Detective mode feels too much like cheating

Batman: Arkham Asylum - PC review, performance and PhysX evaluation

It seems that pretty much anything with the Batman name attached to it is guaranteed critical acclaim these days - Of course, the reboot of the character via a pair of Hollywood movies began the rebirth of Batman as a credible franchise once again, and the plaudits afforded those films has now moved...
