Batman: Arkham Asylum Review

Super heroes appeal because they are usually men and women who are capable of extraordinary things. There's an element of wishing you had those abilities, whether it be Spider-man's tingling spider-sense, Superman's flight or Wolverine's regeneration, but some super heroes aren't really so super.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Donning the cowl of the Caped Crusader and venturing into Gotham's legendary madhouse is serious fun-for a little while.

Rich in references for true Batmaniacs; Exciting action sequences; Considerable replay potential; Solid online components

Potentially repetitive, frustrating battle scenes; Story mode is on the short side

Awesome voice acting; graphics; atmosphere; combat; and controls

Checkpoint saves; repetitive mini-bosses

Batman: Arkham Asylum

During the dense opening credits of Batman: Arkham Asylum , as the Joker is being wheeled, Hannibal Lecter style, into the titular institution, we're introduced to the building's depressing, low-ceilinged environs. More importantly, we're re-introduced to the dynamic between the Joker and Batman.

If you have played any Batman games in the past then you know that these games have a long history of disappointing fans. It looks as though the disappointment has finally ended with Batman: Arkham Asylum from Rocksteady Studios.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - PC review, performance and PhysX evaluation

It seems that pretty much anything with the Batman name attached to it is guaranteed critical acclaim these days - Of course, the reboot of the character via a pair of Hollywood movies began the rebirth of Batman as a credible franchise once again, and the plaudits afforded those films has now moved...
