Audioengine A2+multimedia speakers review: Excellent PC speakers get slightly better
While they'll cost you $50 more, Audioengine A2+ multimedia speakers improve on an already great product (the A2) with slightly better sound when hooked up to your computer via a new USB connection. We're fans of Audioengine's original 2 series speaker, the A2, which came out a few years ago and retails for $199.99. Now the company's released the A2+, an enhanced version of the same speaker that adds a USB digital converter, so you can plug the speakers right into the USB port on your computer.
Pros:
- The Audioengine A2+ is compact set of attractively style powered stereo speakers that delivers impressive sound for its size
- This new "plus" version adds a digital USB connection, an output for an optional subwoofer to the existing two audio inputs, and a redesigned smaller power connector.
Cons:
- The speakers lack a remote control, the volume control is inconveniently located on the backside, and there's no way to toggle between inputs
- The Audioengines are also a bit pricey compared with less refined PC speakers.

Can't be Beat.
Pair these or the A2 (no USB) with a good DAC, one that has a remote and you'll love the sound of your digital music collection.

Review: Audioengine's A2 speakers
Big on sound, small on extras Audioengine's A5 speakers received one of our highest ratings ever (9.5 out of 10) when we had the pleasure of reviewing them last year, so we were understandably excited when Audioengine sent us a pair of their new A2 speakers to check out.
Pros:
- Great sound
- small size
- available in both black and white
Cons:
- No extras, such as remote, iPod docks, etc
- make these a bit pricey given the competitive speaker market

Audioengine A2 Speakers
If you think deploying a subwoofer is a prerequisite to obtaining big-time bass, you haven't heard Audioengine's A5 speakers. And if you're convinced you need huge cabinets for thumping bass, you haven't heard the company's new diminutive A2 system.
Pros:
- Amazing sound in a tiny form-factor.
Cons:
- Lacks the front-mounted volume control and USB port charger of the A5

Hi guys, Now I am not a speaker guy by any means and mostly have crappy stock speakers around here (although I just upgraded my surround speakers for my NAD T747 to some Harmon Kardon 30BQ's) and this will be my first attempt at reviewing speakers.
Pros:
- Incredibly neutral sound with excellent clarity and imaging
Cons:
- None at all from what I've heard thus far

Top notch PC Mac or Notebook speakers
For the price, I cannot think of any other computer speakers on the market I would recommend to a friend that would provide this level of sound and construction quality.
