Top notch PC Mac or Notebook speakers
For the price, I cannot think of any other computer speakers on the market I would recommend to a friend that would provide this level of sound and construction quality.

Audioengine A2
If the only prerequisite for desktop speakers were size, then the Audioengine A2s could confidently look forward to retaining their 2008 What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Award as Best Budget Desktop Speakers. Measuring just 15 x 10 x 13cm, they're almost frivolously small.
Pros:
- Compact
- nicely finished
- fearsomely dynamic and attacking given their size
Cons:
- Some midrange coarseness
- an expected lack of scale

I've never given much of a fig either way about computer speakers. Oh, I know the gamers treasure a rumblin', tumblin', stumblin' sound system, all the better to capture the Birth of the Universe when Gonthrax the Inevitable pounds the Sacred Hammer of Flangedoodle . . . sigh.

Audioengine 2
Audioengine makes relatively affordable speakers for audiophiles, but the Audioengine 2 represents something of a break: $200 computer speakers for sound snobs. There's no fancy styling, no subwoofer, and no remote control-all you really get is stellar sound.
Pros:
- Accurate, pristine audio performance
- Full-bodied but not overpowering bass
- Handles high volumes well
- Attractive design
Cons:
- Large footprint
- Not for those who seek subwoofer rumble
- No remote or extra features

If you're serious about music but you currently listen to tunes through a pair of tinny, cheapo PC speakers, check out Audioengine's $319.00 A2 speakers. They can fill a room with sound without taking up much physical space.

- Need a subwoofer if you're after tooth-rattling bass for movies and games

Hi guys, Now I am not a speaker guy by any means and mostly have crappy stock speakers around here (although I just upgraded my surround speakers for my NAD T747 to some Harmon Kardon 30BQ's) and this will be my first attempt at reviewing speakers.
Pros:
- Incredibly neutral sound with excellent clarity and imaging

- None at all from what I've heard thus far

Cons:
- High treble
- but not loud enough
- Inconvenient volume knob placement
