Audio-Technica ATH-M50x

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are the consumer follow-up to the ATH-M50, a pair of headphones designed for the pros that proved so popular with normal folk it seemed silly not to make a slightly more friendly edition.

Powerful bass; Good stereo imaging and separation; Great value among peers

Bass is somewhat overemphasised; Isolation could be better

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x is priced at Rs. 13,499 for the black variant and Rs. 14,499 for the limited edition, but they can be found for less online. More interestingly, the price of the older ATH-M50 has dropped to around Rs.

Punchy bass; Comfortable earcups; Detachable cables

More expensive than the ATH-M50

Crisp and clear. Use FLAC files and FIIO A3 to get the most of these bad boys.

At first you may not like them enough if you would have been using some other bass heavy headphones coz these are not bass heavy and have a more or less flat response with amazing quality of sound. But as you spend more and more hearing time, it will burn in and open up to a more vivid sound.

Fantastic Purchase

This is an excellent package. Audio-Technica have become one of my favorite audio companies. I have previously used Bose and a less expensive pair of Audio-Technica headphones for recording. With that being said, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones review: Exemplary over-ear audio

If you're looking for a pair of over-ear headphones to wear at home, but don't want to break the bank, and aren't interested in bass-boosted unnatural listening, then the Audio-Technica M50x are a definite contender.

Accessible price; no compromise neutral audio experience; immediately comfortable to wear; solid build and ample padding

Largely plastic construction; no controller on included cables; not ideal for on-the-go wear; ears get warm after extended use

Audio-Technica ATH M50x

Audio-Technica's range gives you a lot of headphone for not very much money. What's not to like?

Worthwhile improvements over the original M-series phones; especially the detachable cable on the M40x and M50x; The range as a whole offers excellent value for money; particularly the M20x and M40x

As long as the Audio-Technica 'family sound' suits your needs; none

Initial impressions. Not monitors. Not hi-fi. Not good.

I've only listened to this for a few hours. The headphones are not fully burned in. They sound wrong. The sound is synthetic and there's a lot of detail missing. This is compared to the Soundmagic E50 and HP151 as well as the Bose Soundlink 2 headphones.

The Lengendary and The Best .. Period!

This is the best .. The legendary ATH-M50 taken a great upgrade and here we have the ATH-M50X .. Could be a bit lighter but at this price range this is the best .. The absolute best .. There are other reviews which provide detail about the product so refer to that - I don't want to repeat it .. :)
