I use this in my home studio to hold the AT2020 mic, this is the universal shock mount for certain body types, the specific one is way too expensive. this is a decent price, but i would expect more metal than just the stand attachment, and a solid clamp system rather than lining up with grooves on...

Audio-Technica's new AT2020 is unashamedly a 'no frills' mic, with basic standmount and a soft zip-up vinyl case. The polar pattern is a fixed cardioid, and there are no switches for pads or filters.

Inexpensive; Well engineered; Good sound on vocals and instruments

This is an awesome mic for the price. I use mine for professional commercial voice-overs. Teamed with a dbx286 channel strip, I get really clean recordings that fit my voice just right.

Just recently bought this mic and highly recommend it to those looking for a great mic at little cost. The look and feel of the mic is truly professional and the quality it renders on voice and guitar is amazing. I ran the AT2020 through my Sound craft mixer plugged into a PC.

The microphone is great, but not suited for all applications. It needs to be connected to a phantom power 48V (e.g. a mixer with this facility), otherwise it won't work at all.

It runs off phantom power so if you are planning on using this for your computer I would suggest getting the USB version, i have heard nothing but good things about both microphones, Just wish i would've know I would need another device to make it work on my computor.

The AT2020 is the kind of a mic that you would want to have if you are mainly recording from home. Because its very affordable and it will get the job done and decent. It will not give you great quality from home and you cant expect to get great quality unless you are willing to spend great money...
