During a phone interview with Evan Grimm, Audeze's Head of Product Training, he admitted that when they'd released their new "Fazor" headphone waveguide technology in 2013, they'd expected near universal praise for the sound. Such was not the case.

The Audeze LCD-2 Classic is a great total package for under 900 euros for users with a focus on contemporary music, with the tuning of these headphones perfectly suited for current-day recordings.
With a current lack of headphones pressing for attention and review space, I turned to an older model that we haven't reviewed yet – the Audeze LCD-2. At a price of $995, and given it's manufacturer, we know this isn't going to be a lightweight.
Well just let me start the review by saying that these are a pair of great headphones. Sound quality is phenomenal, instrument seperation is detailed and sound stage ia wide and open, nothing that I have heard till now. They have the perfect amount of bass, mids and treble.
Considering you dont even sell this product, Hunter gave me great customer service and also a discount...Happy Dayz!
Warm sound signature, with good detail. As others have mentioned, this headphone has strong and detailed bass. It also has a pleasant natural warmth to the mids - but also a good level of detail.
Warm and detailed sound signature; Excellent Bass; Beautiful and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time
Highs can seem recessed; especially if you are coming from Grados or Sennheiser HD800s
truly amazing, only thing is the fit is a little tight, might need some wear to get adjusted.
These headphones are beautifully made & styled (I know some would disagree about the styling but I love them). They come in a bomb proof case with a nice cleaning kit, so the perceived value is high. Worth the price. They are big & heavy but not uncomfortable. The sound?
There comes a point when headphones are so rarefied they get to be made of wood. It can improve the sound of ultra-cans and make for an all-round deluxe experience. The wooden ones by supreme US brand Grado have a certain elegance, whereas these by Audeze just look absurd.
I hate to admit this, but after about six years of serious headphone listening, they still leave me cold. I've heard some great phones, and the Head-Fi crowd is by far one of the most passionate group of audiophiles I've ever met, but… I miss the big, transparent, walk-through sound that I get from...
