I want to marry this NAS

Upgraded from my previous QNAP Atom-based NAS. This baby does 4K transcode on-chip so no CPU hogging. I have thrown every type of media I have at it and the transcoding is super smooth. Also, the memory I got was non Asustor but still 100% compatible. Great set of Apps, and super fast. Has some great security features to track unauthorised entry etc. Thoroughly recommended. Is WAYYYYYYY quieter and runs at about a 1/3 of the temperature.

What a relief!!

After a rather unfortunate experience with a Drobo product I switched to this and have had no trouble with it whatsoever. Works as promised and is quiet, too.

The set up and installation could not have been simpler and the drives 'clip' into the cradles and easily slide into the unit. If you are looking to create a RAID or use other than single drives in the unit, it pays to have them all plugged into the device when you initialize it.. As with most NAS devices I have worked with, any new drive requires to be formatted by the unit - destroying all data.. ...view more
