Wouldn't work with ASUS Z97-A motherboard and Win 10 Pro (creator version). Tech support told me the Xonar DGX would work and it's onlyabout $10 more.
Received this today, installation was very easy. I installed the latest drivers from the ASUS website and everything was up and running. At first everything sounded strange and distorted, it only took a little bit of messing with the settings and everything sounds amazing now.
Got it to send Dobly Digital from a Home Theatre PC to my receiver. Found that one receiver not decoding the signal over the optical input as DD, but just 2-channel whereas another receiver works OK with same PC. Not a knock against the card but just a bit of info that might be helpful to someone.
For the price, this is an excellent sound card. It is a clear upgrade over the onboard audio, and works great with a good quality pair of headphones. This card is great for gaming. Only audiophiles will be disappointed.
Good cheap product if you want to get rid of static coming from your speakers.

Asus' Xonar line continues its impressive lineup with the Xonar DG, proving to be an exceptional value at $30. It does a good job providing richer, fuller sound over speakers, but the built-in headphone amp is where this card really excels.
