Assassin's Creed Unity: Dead Kings DLC Review

Dead Kings offers a surprisingly large bundle of new content that expands and improves on some of the best aspects of Unity's gameplay. Despite a lackluster story and some unnecessary new obstacles, its large playable area and unique underground locations give you lots of opportunities to use its...

Assassin's Creed Unity

Assassin's Creed Unity Review

Assassin's Creed Unity is at once comfortingly familiar, yet drastically different. For all its recognizable tropes, and for all its throwbacks to Assassin's Creeds of old, Unity is surprisingly progressive.

Stunning recreation of revolutionary Paris; Huge crowd scenes add to the atmosphere; Arno is a charming lead; Sandbox-style stealth missions let you plan your own assassinations; Simplified customisation makes it easier to pick skills

Focused story doesn't make the most of its gorgeous backdrop; Arno and Elise's relationship isn't convincing; Free-form parkour system doesn't always work as intended; Lacks the grand scale and spectacle of Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed Unity

Though you wouldn't know it by his accent, Arno Dorian is a dashing young Frenchman who is also kind of a brat. When his adoptive father is mysteriously murdered on the eve of the French Revolution, Arno can't help but feel responsible so he joins the Assassin Brotherhood to seek vengeance.

Assassin's Creed: Unity Review

Fittingly for a series about running, climbing and leaping around massive cities, Assassin's Creed refuses to stand still. In its last few iterations, we've gone from rooftops to the treetops of colonial America, sailed the high seas of the Caribbean and even played as Assassin's Creed's first...

Assassin's Creed Unity

The 'Assassin's Creed' series has come a long way since its humble beginnings seven years ago. At the heart of the gameplay is a parkour movement system that allows the player to climb, jump, slide, and swim through dense urban environments.

Assassin's Creed Unity

Ubisoft has released Assassin's Creed Unity for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The new release has one of the largest cities in the history of the entire series with the beautiful renderings of Paris that features actual playable interiors within the massive buildings of the world.

Ubisoft's new title is full of ambition: bringing rewards and consequences.

Before reading I would like to first apologize to earlier readers for my fluctuating score this is my first review and nailing down a specific score is rather difficult for me. Also I would like to note that I have a pretty large amount of bias toward this game franchise it is one of the only games...

Iconic Performance Issues

I hold myself to the personal standard of trying to finish nearly every game that I review. Not only does that give me the fullest possible perspective in most cases, but it illustrates how fundamentally broken a game would need to be for me to throw in the towel early.

Those issues can undoubtedly be fixed by a patch somewhere down the road, but that patch seems unlikely to fix Unity's biggest flaw: it's just not very much fun. For all its hugeness and graphical splendor, Unity is starved for excitement.
