Assassin's Creed

Fortunately, the story that binds it all together rises to the occasion. Actually, there are two related stories in play. The unfolding drama of Crusades-era Palestine is a mere memory, forcibly pulled from a modern-day bartender named Desmond by a resolute researcher using a machine called an...

Huge; gorgeous world that feels wholly alive; Fluid controls make it fun to run across city rooftops; Joyous mix of stealth; action; and platforming; Stunning sound design features fantastic voice acting and a beautiful musical score; Tons of small details will constantly amaze you

Confusing ending; A few small visual glitches

blah

Whatever you pictured this game being, belive me it's not. Don't get me wrong, it's playable but nothing exciting. Note: This Review was made by Play.com customer: evilmunchkin on Rakuten's Play.com on the date shown.

Assassin's Creed Review

There are a few standout tech issues I couldn't help but notice. Clipping happens regularly, as does poor collision detection (or more that it doesn't happen). The refresh rate on the 360 version is a little out and I noticed a lot of environmental pop-up in the way of trees, buildings and even...

Assassin's Creed

games with the stealth aspects. Many of you have already read most of the reviews out there. Most are in the 9s, some are in the 7s. After playing through the whole game I find myself sitting in the middle with my feelings on this game.

The graphics are good minus the pop-ins everywhere; The early hours of jumping roof to roof and eliminating targets; Getting to all the View Points was a lot of fun; The controls take a bit to get used to; but soon you'll be jumping/climbing everywhere; The big reveal at the beginning; used...

The information missions and combat are highly repetitive; You must buffer them with side quests to not feel déjà vu, The game does end on a major cliffhanger; Hopefully the next game will come soon

Assassin's Creed

"Hello, my name is Edward McSmarmy. Please allow me to give you twenty pounds."

Superb Character animation and ‘Free Running' manoeuvres; Pretty and detailed realisation of Holy Land locations; You can get medieval on enemies with some brutal; realistic moves; Individuals and crowds actually feel like they have some weight; Occasionally provides great atmosphere and sweeping...

Some tearing and the odd glitch; Too much handholding and introductory exposition; Being an assassin is not as fun and varied as it should be; Missions become samey after a while; The stop/start nature of the storytelling and objectives irritates; Is the unusual twist to the story really necessary

Assassin's Creed

has actually hit both Sony and Microsoft's systems this year, with a PC version to follow in early 2008. It must be noted though that content between the versions is pretty much identical, so whichever version you choose you are in for a great experience.

Getting Biblical On Your Ass

Who doesn't want to be a badass twelfth century assassin? In Assassin's Creed you play as Altair, a member of the Hashshashin (a real group of assassins for you history buffs). And he is the best that ever was, but he does not follow their creed very well at all, which is revealed in the very first...

The Third Crusade meet Grand Theft Auto!

Assassin's Creed is an awesome game well worth the price. Great for anyone who wants to complete missions and for those who want to just go around and kill people for fun.

Graphics: The single best graphics on a game I have ever seen; Everything from the tallest building to the smallest rock is so incredibly detailed

End of the story: They kind of spoilt the ending with all of that magic stuff; Big let down

Assassin's Creed is a beautiful, exciting experience that will stay with you long after you finish it.

Assassin's Creed features one of the most unique gameworlds ever created: beautiful, memorable, and alive. Every crack and crevasse is filled with gorgeous, subtle details, from astounding visual flourishes to overheard cries for help.

Huge; gorgeous world that feels wholly alive; It's fun to run across city rooftops; Joyous mix of stealth; action; and platforming; Stunning sound design features fantastic voice acting and a beautiful musical score; Tons of small details will constantly amaze you

Confusing ending; Remarkably high system requirements and some small glitches; New mission types aren't as good as the others
