As a lover of both stealth and action games, Assassin's Creed is easily one of my favorite franchises out there, even if it did take me awhile to warm up to the whole sci-fi front end of the story with the Animus and diving into memories embedded in DNA.

But I digress. If it's a "killer" time you're looking for on the Wii U, Assassin's Creed III is a noteworthy effort, one that'll keep you intrigued with hours of single and multiplayer content, and plenty of exquisite gameplay touches.

Assassin's Creed II was such a huge leap in quality over the original game, not only bringing some much needed variation to the series, but also refining just about every area of the previous game that mattered, as well as introducing some fresh mechanics that further bolstered the experience.

then, you're certainly not left wanting for decent entertainment. Despite the scenery and character changes, new mechanics and updated visuals...

Blast Factor: When you break it down into individual parts, Assassin's Creed 3 is a massive game. The amount of things that can be done and the scope of the game as a whole is staggering to comprehend. It is perhaps this that caused many of the flaws that are present.

December 21 st will come and go, but the legacy of Assassins Creed III will last forever. But what will that legacy be? Although this is the third numbered installment, AC3 is the fifth game in the series and with that comes the knowledge of past mistakes and ideas.

Assassins Creed is best approached with no preconceptions whatsoever. If you play it with an expectation of greatness, then an unfair emphasis will be placed on the in game issues and that does not do the game justice.

For years now, Assassin's Creed remains one of Ubisoft's most popular video game series. The original showed terrific potential, although it suffered from repetitive mission design. The developers have been improving the gameplay mechanics and building upon the story of Desmond Miles ever since.

Ubisoft finally nailed the fighting mechanics; maintaining the flow of combat is one of the best aspects of the game; naval conflicts are fun as hell; an authentic representation of sea and land battles that took place during the American Revolution

Missions feel unrewarding and uninteresting at times; Connor's no Ezio (or Altair for that matter); initial release crammed with technical issues; there are many elements in the game that just seem useless (like hunting)

Overall, Assassin's Creed III is an excellent addition to the series. While there a number of bugs and the protagonist isn't someone players will feel particularly attached to, the lengthy campaign, the range of objectives and the well thought out multiplayer ensure there is plenty of replayability...
