HAD NO END OF TROUBLE WITH THIS IPOD. WOULD NOT UPDATE. AFTER MANY HOURS OF FRUSTRATION ON THE PHONE, EVENTUALLY IT SEEMED OKAY, BUT NOW WON'T EVEN TURN ON. HAD ENOUGH, GOING TO THROW IT OUT. THIS WAS MY THIRD ATTEMPT TO HAVE AN APPLE PRODUCT, BUT ALWAYS SOMETHING ALWAYS WRONG WITH THEM. WILL NEVER HAVE ANYTHING APPLE AGAIN.
For those still wanting a high capacity, diminutive music and video player that isn't an iPhone, the iPod touch offers a compelling option for under $200/£200.
High capacity, Low price, Small screen appeals for some, OS updates
Some key iOS features missing
The new iPod touch is fantastic for gaming and listening to music alike, with the new A10 Fusion chip making AR experience better than ever. It's also relatively inexpensive, and could be a ideal entertainment device.
Inexpensive way to access Apple's iOS capabilities, Great for gaming, Suitable for children, 3.5mm headphone jack
No Touch ID, Camera feels dated
Basically, the 2015 iPod got a brain transplant to keep it chugging along. Everything else about it remains unchanged making it an easy swap out for businesses that currently rely on the iPod, but a hard sell for most people.
The new iPod Touch is twice as fast as the previous version and will be able to run iOS 13. Its small size, thin body, headphone jack and old school iPhone-vibe will appeal to some.
Battery life isn't great, photos and videos are only OK and larger storage versions of the iPod Touch cost too much.
