Apple Watch Series 4 review: The Apple Watch is clearly the best smartwatch in the world at the moment and it is getting better with the Series 4, the new S4 processor and is much faster than the earlier version
According to Apple, the Series 4 represents "a fundamental redesign and re-engineering of Apple Watch." As a result, watch out for a lot of very cool changes, from the curved corners to the all-new and larger display.
The Series 4 provides lots to talk about but it's the display that is capturing the most attention. The narrow borders deliver a viewing area that’s over 30 per cent larger! The curved corners match the radius of the case, allowing for images and the touch surface to almost extend to the very edge of the screen.
Because of the bigger display, the design of the interface has been remodelled with the new Infograph watch face now capable of handling eight complications, allowing you to do more and see more at a glance.
The optical heart sensor has always been a feature of the Apple Watch, but in the Series 4 it can now detect if your heart rate falls below a specified threshold for a period of 10 minutes, and activates a low-heart-rate notification as a result.
The Series 4 is a complete SiP a System in Package. This means the entire system is fabricated onto a single component with some incredible capabilities crammed into that small device.
The Apple Watch Series 4 boasts improvements in virtually every sense, and that includes a speaker that's 50 % louder for enhanced audio quality for things like Siri and the Walkie-Talkie function. Meanwhile, the microphone is now on the other side of the watch to minimise echo when making phone calls.

One non-obvious point arises from using a range of wearables and it isn't mentioned often enough. While the iPhone may not be the best phone (let's park that argument), the combination of iPhone and Watch trumps any other combination.
Ultimately, the Apple Watch Series 4 is an awesome device that you're going to love. I just think you're going to want next year's model more if it has an ambient display. I'd recommend doing what I did with the original Apple Watch.
It’s bigger, it’s better-looking and it could save your life
The larger screen (30% larger no less), especially as the Watch itself has barely grown at all. The Series 4 comes in 40mm and 44mm versions (measured vertically), compared to 38mm and 42mm for past Watches.
There’s no native sleep tracking, and even if there was the battery life is still too short to allow you to wear the Watch at night. The battery will last a day comfortably, but not two, so you have to plug it in every night.
If one were to pull out a feature comparison of the Apple Watch Series 4 versus the Series 3, specific to sports and fitness, they’d likely just go ‘shrug’. Ultimately, the differences just aren’t there in the hardware side of things.
I am of two minds on the Apple Watch. On one hand, I think that it's the best overall smartwatch you can currently buy. And to that end, the Series 4 -- now available starting at $399 -- is the best Apple Watch to date.
The Apple Watch Series 4 offers a larger, crisp display that shows more with less bezel, superfast speed and a louder speaker; It adds high and low heart-rate detection, fall detection with SOS trigger, and (eventually) FDA-cleared EKG for more detailed heart readings
Starting prices are higher than last year; Battery life still won't last past two days; Watch face options are still very limited in choice and function; Only works with iPhones
The new Apple Watch has a larger screen, thanks to its edge display. It's lighter, louder, and packs more features. The GPS variant starts at Rs 40,900, while Cellular variant starts at Rs 49,900 In the hyperactive world of gadgets, it typically takes three iterations for a product to discover its...
After two weeks with my Apple Watch Series 4 I'm still glad I bought it, and I was upgrading from the very capable Apple Watch Series 3. The big thing for me right now is the larger and brighter display. The stronger haptic feedback and louder speaker are nice plusses, too.
Bigger and brighter watch face; new heart rate sensors; better speaker; old watchbands still fit
Auto-sensing for ending some workouts is too aggressive; LTE available only on stainless steel models; settings like Theater Mode still don't mirror between iPhone and Apple Watch; battery life not good enough for back country use
No matter how sceptical we were from the very beginning the Apple Watch is everywhere now. You see them on the wrists of all kinds of people-not just tech nerds. It is officially a thing.

The display is actually very pretty and makes the Watch easier to use
Battery life has diminished and some of the coolest features aren't available yet
