So, is it worth paying out the extra for the Apple TV 4K over the fourth-gen device? Essentially, yes, as long as you have/are planning to buy a 4K HDR TV and can benefit from the free upgrade of your iTunes movie collection.

If you're an Apple fan, have an existing iTunes library, and use iOS devices, then it's going to be hard to avoid the lure of the Apple 4K TV. Its integration with the Apple universe is a big factor, and one that would make sense to a lot of people.

I would not want to be a dedicated Apple TV user and an obsessive TV consumer. In the years since its release, the little black box by Apple has often lagged behind competitors, seemingly forgotten by Apple in favour of phones, computers, and even watches.

Now Apple has stepped into the world of 4K, customers can expect a steady stream of high quality content. It will all come through Apple TV 4K which provides a fantastic home viewing experience.

Bought this in April 2019. Easy to use and great as a 4K streamer. I found that 4K streaming is best with broadband speed of at least 25Mbps - so ADSL and NBN 12 or 25 (with typical speeds below 25Mbps) will not be sufficient to really enjoy 4K.
