Apple MacBook Air (2019)

The 2019 edition of Apple's MacBook Air is cheaper and has a slightly richer feature set than its solid predecessor, making it a decent ultraportable for buyers who won't perform many resource-intensive computing tasks.

Thin, sleek, and light; Excellent design and build quality; Large, accurate touchpad; Very long battery life; Fingerprint reader

Humdrum performance on benchmark tests; Very short key travel on a polarizing keyboard; Limited port selection; No touch screen

Apple MacBook Air (2019) review: the new normal

There's not a lot that's changed with 2019's iteration of the MacBook Air - it's a minor tweak on the major changes Apple introduced last year . It still has a beautiful Retina display - only now it's True Tone so it matches the color temperature of the room.

Touch ID for login; True Tone display looks great; Thin; classic design

Processor can sometimes struggle; USB-C ecosystem still a hassle; Can you really trust this keyboard

Apple MacBook Air (2019)

While a solid entry with an excellent new screen, the 2019 MacBook Air's dual-core processor is starting to feel underpowered. Even with a lower entry price, it's still very expensive considering its light starting specification and pricey upgrades.

Lovely design; Screen is great; Fantastic battery life; New lower price

Underpowered; Lack of storage space; Pricey to upgrade; Only two Thunderbolt 3 ports; Expensive

Apple Macbook Air 2019 in Review: Now with True Tone, but the fan is still annoying

Small Update with True Tone Display The 2019 MacBook Air is just a minor update. Apple's smallest laptop now supports True Tone for the screen, so the color temperature is automatically adjusted to the environment. Otherwise, there is not much change, and we still get the annoying fan. At least the price is a bit lower.

Not a lot has changed in the 2019 version of the MacBook Air. The screen now manages the advertised ...

high quality case; good screen; 2x USB-C w/ Thunderbolt 3; long battery runtime; great touchpad; Touch-ID fingerprint scanner; often silent operation; very good speakers; sufficient everyday performance;

very low CPU performance; display is not as good as on the MacBook Pros; only USB-C and stereo jack; fan is way too loud for this level of performance; long charging time; no Wi-Fi 6; only Bluetooth 4.2; no SD reader; very high prices for storage upgrades;
