Apple's sixth-generation AirPort Extreme router is well built, easy to use and offers superb performance. Here's our AirPort Extreme 802.11ac review.
The monolithic AirPort Extreme is an 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi router. It's designed to complement the new 802.11ac-compatible Macs, yet is backwards compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n devices.
Fast speeds; AFP networking
Limited advanced features
Bought Airport Extreme to replace Airport express in order to boost wi-fi signal to devices in another part of the house; now use Airport Extreme as primary router and Airport express as a signal booster. Not perfect, but an improvement
When I bought my Bose Home Theater, the router I had running my home network was simply to weak. I installed Apple TV so I could use Netflix, Airplay and Internet Radio. I also have 2 Mac computers, 2 cell phones, 2 iPads and a Solar System that all needed access to the net.
Enables 2 computers; 2 Cell Phones; Apple TV; Solar System Communications at the same time without a glitch
Not a darn thing
Easy to connect and helped with connecting Dragonfly to iPad for music usage!
I wanted to use this to transfer data from a flash drive to my iPad, but a power supply was needed due to the amount of data to be transferred, thus the product was insufficient to accomplish the task.
Best money can buy! I have had almost every single router and WiFi extender there is out there and this by far us the best one I have every used. I have 2 of them now at two different locations.
Well, it turns out that Apple never even responded to my review request this time. But my curiousity about whether Apple was performing a stealth seeding of three-stream routers in the the wild got the better of me.
