Nintendos latest digital board game, Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, is a bit of a snoozefest. Read Kidzworlds full review right here!

Animal Crossing made its name as a quaint, cutesy, somewhat bizarre life simulator where something new to do, collect or modify is always around the corner. This year, two spin-off games hone in on separate areas of that Nintendo life: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer on 3DS explores "work," and...

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival review
The same goes for Amiibo Festival as a whole. It's hard to hate - but investing in a boring board game where extra counters cost thirteen quid is sure to leave you short of both bells and happy points.

There's plenty to see and do in Amiibo Festival, so long as players have the time to invest in unlocking it all. This isn't a challenging title, but that's fine because it's not meant to be one; this is the Animal Crossing version of a party, meaning everyone can come, have fun, and soak in the...

Room and bored - Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival review
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival shares many similarities with traditional Animal Crossing games. It's serene, slow-paced, and lighter, much like its life-sim roots. More importantly, the game puts little focus on goals, choosing instead to place its emphasis on the value of smaller moments.
Pros:
- Retains the Animal Crossing spirit
- Clean presentation
Cons:
- Dull and unexciting
- amiibo integration feels forced
- Gimmicky mini games

The creators of Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival knew an inferior imitation of the Mario Party franchise for the Wii wouldn't serve any relative purpose other than to sell more Amiibo figures.

Pros:
- Did you know that the world of Animal Crossing is cute? Well that doesn't change here
- It's almost offensively cutesy and happy-go-lucky
- If you enjoy watching the characters engage in miniature story book blurbs about happiness and friendship, it's here, The Desert Island Escape minigame is...

Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival Review
Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is undoubtedly charming, using the world and little details of Animal Crossing to their fullest. However, there's not enough to it to keep me coming back.
Pros:
- Charming
- Fun ideas
Cons:
- Slow
- Shallow
- Poor amiibo use
