Remote doesn't have TV controls; Interface is sometimes sluggish

I may be doing the Firestick a dis-service but the device doesn't fit snugly into the HDMI port which results in the signal coming & going. If I physically hold the Firestick in the HDMI port I seem to get a constant signal etc. but this is not ideal. When it works properly it does transform the old t.v. into a Smart T.V.

The feature that I like the best is to tolk to my remote and it does the searching.
