Playing Alpha Protocol is like putting together a 5,000-piece jigsaw puzzle with 500 pieces missing: You get a sense of what the big picture should have been, but the final product is still maddeningly incomplete.

Your choices have lasting impact on the story and gameplay; Lots of ways to approach missions and develop your character

Flaky; glitchy cover mechanics; Bland visuals further marred by texture pop-in and bad animations; Terrible AI affects both the shooting and the stealth; The story lacks soul and character

buggy game

It's an alright game if you play it like an rpg and take advantage of every equipment but in the end the buggy gameplay will leave you hating the game.

Pros: rpg/stealth/action is a very cool mix for a game; Voice acting is pretty good; Lots of customization for your character and equipment; Cool dialogue choices

Cons: stealth is somewhat broken and feels like a chore to play, you can try to be stealthy but always fail and have to shoot your way through; Shooting can get frustrating, it's due to your characters shooting skill; Lots of graphic bugs and glitchy ai

You definatly need to give it a chance

I must admit when I first played this game I would have given it a 1 or 2 star rating, but when you get so far though the game and your decisions start to take effect starts to get really fun, I agree that there are some clunky elements to the game and there are a few bugs, the first mission I...

The most reactive RPG I have ever played

Alpha Protocol is a spy-themed RPG where you play an agent recruited into a secret organization.

1; dialogue choices decide how other characters in the game behave towards you, 2; actions taken during gameplay influences how the story develops, 3; your combat style can be customized, 4; it is set in the real world, 5; it has a very high replay value

The game ending was not as epic as I expected

Alpha Protocol

What Obsidian has crafted is a decent first attempt that shamelessly borrows elements from some heavy-hitting titles in an attempt to make them its own. While we refrain from using the term ‘unique' in any capacity, somehow the result feels fresh enough to warrant at least a single playthrough.

PC/XBOX360/PS3 Game

What the HECK took me so long to get my review of Alpha Protocol done? Didn't I mention months ago having finished the game? Didn't I later say I was going back and replaying again … and haven't some months ensued since THAT as well?

Unique setting and premise; Engaging story; Great stealth system; Choices that matter; Great skill system; Strict cash system

Graphics are lackluster; Soundtrack isn't memorable; Cover system is fiddly; Mini-games become a chore

Alpha Protocol

If Alpha Protocol was just a re-skinned version of Mass Effect , I would be content with what it has to offer. In some respects, that's exactly what it is. Many of its core systems - including combat, weapons modifications, the cover system - are cribbed right from Mass Effect .

Alpha Protocol

Alpha Protocol is a 2010 release of Ubisoft's 2007 release of Haze. While the game didn't live up to the hype it was given, it does feature several next-generation elements that simply weren't executed perfectly.

Alpha Protocol review (X360)

It's safe to say that the team at Obsidian, which was formed by ex-members of Black Isle and which has handled two BioWare sequels, knows its way around an RPG. That same team is inexperienced with action romps, though, and has developed the unfortunate habit of shipping games before they are...
