Akiba's Trip Review: A little more power goes a long way

From a distance, Akiba's Trip seemed like something to avoid. A brawler about ripping peoples' clothes off? Really? Man, at least it isn't pretending to not be creepy, I guess. But the reviews hit, including our own from editor Jenni Lada , and something weird happened. People liked it.

When Akiba's Trip was originally released on the PS3 and PS Vita last year, the reaction was mixed owing to technical issues such as frame rate dips and a simplistic battle system that did not really evolve during the course of the game.

Less interesting than it sounds

The premise of Akiba's Trip from Acquire, even by my standards, is pretty out there . At its core, the hero's mission is to run around Japan's famous Akihabara district while stripping enemy vampires of their clothing in broad daylight, thus reducing them to ash.

Fantastically weird premise

Painfully insipid writing

Review: Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed (Sony PlayStation 4)

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed was a title I was interested in as soon as its localization was announced purely due to its insane premise. Protect the city from vampires by ripping off their clothes and causing them to burn up in the sunlight? It's weirdly brilliant in its own way.

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed

This RPG/ Brawler mash-up has enough strong points and an ostensibly kinky central mechanic to ensure that it'll find a market.

Need a good game? Get this!

I played this game over and over again, and even after I collected all of the trophies, I still wanted to play some more. With so many different combinations you can do as far as battle partners and endings, this game is AWESOME. At first, you may read the synopsis and go ".... Wait.

another weirdly fun game out of japan

great fun, main game is a little short took me around 8-9 hours, loads of reasons to replay it though (hard difficulties, collectibles, side missions etc) haven't worked out how to get block to work, seems to be timing based, currently I'm just overpowering enemies with punches & kicks

Like being in Akiba A+

This game is really fun. I wanted the Vita version but held out for the PS4. Basically it is a dating sim with some fun vampire fighting. When you teleport from zone to zone on the map it shows real ads from Akiba.

The game is really cool. Nice setting and very lovable characters. This is one of those games where you just have to disconnect your brain and enjoy. If you think to much about it, you will find it hard to enjoy, but if you just want to chill and have fun, this game is the game you need.
