Age of Empires II - The Age of Kings (AOK) picks up where the original game left off.  Having mastered leading civilizations out of the Stone Age, players now face the challenges of surviving the Dark Ages and reaching the Age of Imperialism without being annihilated by rival civilizations.

With so many RTS games out there its an ugly fight to be at the top of the food chain. Whoever takes the present "gather resources, build base, build armies, kill enemy" template and expands upon it the most wins.

Best RTS ever made? Possibly. I'm still playing this now and again in 2012, and still having fun, although it can be difficult to make it work, and the AI is occasionally buggy.

This is probably one of my favourite PC games of all time. It such an entertaining game, and can keep you occupied for hours! So what's it all about? Well, Age of Empires 2 is a strategy game. You start with nothing (usually) and try and build up the biggest armies to destroy your enemies!

One of the best strategy games ever. It is so cool that you can build so many new civilizted buildings. Its a game to get for your birthday, christmas etc. I give this game 10/10 It could be a bit cheaper though, my friend got his for 13.25 online and that was the total.

Age of Empires 2 with the expansion is without doubt one of the most addictive games I have played. I first bought this game around 2002ish and I still play it now. I think it was released in 1999, which makes this game nearly 10 years old and in computer game terms that may as well be 100 years.

The first time I played this game, I was sold. I only lend it from the library, and parting from it was very hard :P As soon as I had the money, I ran to the store to buy a copy of my own... In one word, fabulous.

up to expectations

Both Age of Empires 1 and 2 are brilliant games, no doubt about that, however compared to some of the newer RTS (Real Time Strategy) look much crisper. The gameplay is very good, whith many hours, even days spendable on the computer playing away on these games.
