The game is not a dogfighting simulator, or game in the sense that Ace combat 6 was, rather it is an arcade game masquerading as a member of the ace combat series. The first thing to note is that you can no longer roll the plane, left on the stick is turn left, not roll left: in short you cannot...

if you are new to AC series and just like war games this may be for you. But if you are like myself being a fan since the first AC, rent it first to try out before you buy.

New game modes rather than only the jets

AC series is known for its simple control, straight forward game play and rich story line; By now I have not finished the game yet, but it has failed the first 2 points; This is just a drastic change to a old hardcore AC fan like myself.

Superb graphics, fun story-line, responsive flight controls and awesome additions (like helicopter side-gunner missions). Totally glad this game is in my collection, but you've gotta love being in the cockpit else this game won't be for you.

I recently got a PS3 because of the hopes for kingdom hearts and these games as well as anything fun inbetween. But this game was worth every cent. I love it the graphics are amazing the flight controls are the same as the others which really give it a classic feel.

[Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Review - Xbox 360 - 8.0/10] As a somewhat longtime fan of the AC franchise, I found plenty to love in the latest title, Assault Horizon. However, as with many sequels this year, there are a number of changes, and I found them to be hit-or-miss.

This game is severely underrated, sure the first half of the campaign is a little dull but the second half is mindblowing! And no one even mentions the amazing online, capital conquest is extremely fun and thoughtful and deathmatch is just awesome.

"Assault Horizon" comes with this new "Ace Combat". The rules for "dog fight" and leave the game with bombing guy action movie like "Invisible Threat - Stealth", but sacrifice the breadth of game strategies.

When you build on a series, there's only one way to go: higher, faster, more.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is the best game title in the franchise. The addition of ground fights gives a refreshing feels to fans of the series, and on top of that new Conquest mode adds up a lot of re-playability for the game.

is a rather tricky prospect to assess. On the one hand it's a fudge of a flight simulator that makes far too many compromises for the casual gamer. But on the other hand, it is a really enjoyable, arcade-orientated game to play.
