AMD Ryzen 9 5900X vs. Intel Core i9-10900K: Which High-End CPU Is Right For You?

Absolute monster.

Picked this up right as it launched. PBTech delayed the shipment to the 30th which was a bum, but guess what? 13th November (a week after purchasing) I get an email, your order has been shipped. Next day, it's here. Shoutout to PBTech. The CPU is insane. 2nd best CPU in the world and arguably the best for specific things. I got this so I can game, stream, and produce music and I won't have to upgrade for years. Upgrading from a Ryzen 5 2600 to this has been a huge step up, I love it. No complaints or issues. This baby is craaaaazy!

Overkill but amazing

Upgraded to this from an i7 5820k Overclocked at 4.3Ghz. Intel may have been clinging onto having the better CPUs for years, but now AMD have absolutely thrashed them in every respect. Price, Performance, AMD is now the king. It's completely over the top for what I need it for, but I don't care. It's the best thing out there aside from the 5950X for gaming and productivity, and seeing 24 boxes on task manager is just oh so nice. Paired up with an RTX 2080 and running games at 1440P 144hz It also cut down my video render times by a huge margin.

Expensive - but aren't all good things?

Installed this onto an Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero motherboard and everything worked well out of the box. This is my first AMD CPU for about 20 years. It is remarkable what competition does for the computer industry and, in 2020/21, AMD is certainly well ahead. Gone (for now) are the days when a CPU upgrade resulted in performance being only a few percentage points higher than the old one (Intel). This CPU just yelled out to me "buy me".

Probably the best higher end CPU for Dec 2020/Jan 2021

If you want a higher end CPU with all the threads this is probably the better 'value' than the 5950X. Unless you need the extra cores of a 5950X, this thing handles everything well. I can play Cyberpunk while having a bunch of other things going on at the same time with no issues.

Incredible! 12 Cores at over 5ghz!

Running great with 32gb 3600CL16 memory, the 3700X it replaced could not sustain 3600CL16 with any undervolting applied. Runs cooler than the 3700X whilst destroying it in performance. PBO that reaches 5.125ghz on 1 or two core without changing any other settings! 4.7ghz all core boost too. Literally nothing better for the cost right now. Can't recommend this any more

Great, But HOT, hot hot

Harvey Norman pulled it out the bag on d got me the CPU. CPU is great, however it runs warm even compared to my same TDP 2700X All good though.
