Flagship class

This here is the ultimate gaming chip for the AM4 platform. I've always wondered why AMD delayed this launch... This product is just owning. If you're a competitive gamer, GET THIS... 500+ fps on Valorant is no sweat. 200+ on Warzone and Apex Legends with RX 6700 XT.. Tried it on PvZ and reached max 9,999 fps, just mowing all those Zombies. Seriously, if you're on an AM4 platform, this is the perfect upgrade. No RAM tuning needed, just enable XMP.. that's it! TLDR +Best Gaming CPU +No RAM tuning required +AM4 upgrade CPU -No overclocking (but who does it now anyways) -Stupidly long name.. could've just named it 5800"Z" Yes, ...view more

Upgraded from 2700 - 5 star

What can I say, I didn't really expect the performance gains I got upgrading from a 2700 to this. This CPU paired with a 2080 super can often see gains of 80+% in certain titles like Squad where my old 2700 was clearly bottenecking my system. Highly recommended, incredible to think this is still using the AM4 chipset.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D review: The fastest gaming CPU in the world

The past year has been a tight battle between Intel and AMD to release the best gaming CPU. AMD held the lead with Ryzen 5000 before being leapfrogged by Intel’s 12th-gen processors, but Team Red wasn’t content to rest on its laurels. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is here to cement AMD as the champion once again. It has the performance of a flagship CPU with midrange pricing, far outpacing anything else that AMD or Intel has to offer when it comes to gaming. General CPU performance is down, as expected, but gamers who want peak performance can stop searching: The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the best gaming CPU you can buy in 2022. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is mostly identical to the Ryzen 7 5800X. It features the same eight Zen 3 cores, but they’re tuned slightly lower (a 400MHz loss on the base clock and 200MHz loss on the max boost clock). It’s not a great option for applications that are sensitive to core count or frequency, but that’s not the point of the chip. For gamers, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is a steal. A...

The fastest gaming CPU on the market; Solid thermal performance; Works with AM4 motherboards; Inexpensive; Low power requirements;

No overclocking; Lackluster general CPU performance;

Excellent CPU - most noticeable in improved 1% lows in games

Upgraded from a 3700x - paired with a 3080 TUF. Have noticed a significant increase in gaming performance, most notably in the 1% lows so no longer any stutters or micro pauses in games such as AC Valhalla which is where you mostly notice it - not by having 20-30fps more at the top end. Runs silky smooth now!

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Review: Better gaming CPU than Core i9-12900K for US$120 less

Socket AM4's last lap. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D is the company's first attempt at a mainstream desktop CPU that leverages 3D V-cache technology. 3D V-cache provides AMD with a shot in the arm in gaming enabling it to beat even the Intel Core i9-12900K without clock or TDP increases. However, its current implementation results in several deficiencies that narrow the Ryzen 7 5800X3D's use cases.

AMD has held on socket AM4 for long. Even with the launch of the Ryzen 7000 series on socket AM5, th...

Great upgrade option for previous generation Zen users; Beats the Core i9-12900K in gaming; Well-sustained performance without throttling;

No overclocking support including PBO; Lower base and boost clocks compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X; Performance hit in CPU-bound applications;
