AKG K44 Headphones

I've used a lot of headphones in my lifetime, and have found these to be the best headphones for under $100 that I've ever used. They are fairly lightweight, very comfortable, keep out noise and have great sound. I am an avid music listener, and have several pairs.

Superb!

These headphones are just awesome! Listening to music with them is jaw dropping, but with these, I can hear stations through the noise that are a hard copy on my Boston Acoustics external speakers. My headphones are the older K44's I have owned them for 3 years.

  • high quality
  • clear and accurate response
Cons:
  • Same as any other closed ear headphone
  • can get warm on the ear over time

I have a set of AKG K240'a and a set of AKG K271's (originals) and I'm looking into buying 6 sets of AKG K44's. I run a home based studio where I record and mix indie bands. In a studio setting there are 3 general uses for headphones and, ideally, you want 3 different types for those uses.
Pros:
  • In the right setting
  • these headphones are champs
Cons:
  • in the wrong setting
  • these headphones are chumps

Great sounding headphones at a great price.

These are great sounding headphones at a great price. For less than $50 you get sound quality of much more expensive headphones. They are very light weight and comfortable to wear. The feature that makes them so comfortable is the self adjusting top head strap.

Better than the price suggests

Bought these recently as my regular headphones got trashed by the kids. I was a little sceptical at first, they dont look quite as cool in the flesh as they do in the pictures, but once I used then, I realised what a great purchase they were.

These are an extremely comfortable pair of cans, I've worn mine for many hours at a time and still been comfortable. They go low, and have no difficulty pelting out the bass frequencies where my speakers sound either feeble or give up on.
