The C 214 features a fixed cardioid pattern, highpass filter and 20dB pad. The AKG name brings to mind a number of legacy mics - such as the C 12, C 414 and C 451 - and there isn't a lightweight in the bunch.

probably the best mic I ever used its perfect for vocals and you don't need to eq much, this is a perfect mic for any home studio go pick it up you will not be dissapointed.
The AKG C 214 is a large diaphragm condenser microphone that is designed for use in the recording studio. I wouldn't recommend bringing it out for live shows or anything like that as this is pretty much strictly a studio microphone.
The quality of this mic has to be heard to be fully appreciated. A great semi-pro level recording mic that packs features well above its price-range. Buy it and you won't be disappointed. Andertons excellent pricing combined with a free XLR cable really is the icing-on-the cake as it were.
I purchased this mic using American Express Rewards points with Crutchfield as the fulfillment dealer. There were other options, but I know and trust Crutchfield, so they were the obvious choice.
Great sound, transparent and airy; Very solidly built
Phantom power could be a problem for some people; but most good interfaces and consoles have it
I use this for my home studio to record shows and podcasts. It works excellent!
I use this mic at work (I do voice-overs) and just love it. It's got a warm, crisp sound, with very low noise. I find, with the right placement, I do very little post-production touch-ups - a bit of EQ (but that's because of my VOICE, not the mic), and slight compression.
