A Way Out review – only together

The creator of Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons presents a new game that can only be played with another person in co-op.

The whole prison break scenario works perfectly in terms of gameplay and atmosphere; Characters are more three-dimensional than they first appear; Clever use of splitscreen

The gameplay gets progressively less interesting as it goes on and the story is only saved by the ending; Some weak dialogue, strange tonal shifts, and awful third person shooting

Duality is at the heart of A Way Out . It's a game about two people, designed to be played by two players. It also feels like two games in one. It's a narrative exploration adventure that's also an action game. It's a standard machismo-laden romp that works its socks off to find emotional depth.

A Way Out (PS4) Review

"A Way Out" is incredible becuase of the cooperative action it presents. If you have a pal that you would even consider playing through this with, make the jump. It is a fun journey.

A Way Out - PlayStation 4

From the makers of Brothers, A Tale of Two Sons, comes a not quite as polished, be equally as charming attempt to stretch video game conventions. This time, the trick is to provide an entirely seemless and cinematically styled co-op experience.

A Way Out

A Way Out is an ambitious co-op only, split-screen only adventure game with a compelling story, interactive environments and fun ideas that's a little messy in execution but fun with a friend.

A Way Out

The "cooperative multiplayer" label fails to adequately describe director Josef Fares's A Way Out . While you do need to work with a friend to even play this game about two men who break out of prison in order to take down a common enemy, the experience ends in mano-a-mano tragedy that suggests we...

The first choice you face in A Way Out is an expected one: choosing your character. You're in an airplane, flying to some unknown destination, when you get the option to choose which character you're controlling. This is before you even really know them.
