Pretty nice unit

Works well. Not the fastest but OK for what it is. Picky on 128 SD cards so be prepared to do some tests on what cadrs work. Other than that. Pretty nice unit.

Useful device to store and access data

Straightforward to use once inctructions downloaded from WD website. Access to images by smart devices makes this far more useful than conventional external hard drive.

Review: WD My Passport Wireless Pro

Smartphones and tablets have certainly gotten more and more capacious in the last twelve months: Apple's got an iPad with 256GB of space, and SanDisk's 200GB microSD card similarly upped the ante for Android.

I bought this as a memory card backup device for a trip to the Galapagos. It worked fine at home. But when I got to Ecuador, the Wireless Pro stopped any detectable wireless communication. I tried backing up my SD cards, but could not see if they had been copied to the hard drive.

I own the 1st release of this excellent product and it is still fully operation. The 2nd release, this product, is just one step up the ladder of excellency from Western Digital. I would highly recommend WD My Passport Wireless Pro to anyone wanting digital camera memory storage / backup while on...

Camera downloads via memory card and/or WiFi; Battery powered; i.e.: no plug-in required; Large storage; Fast access via USB for processing once back home

None that I've found

The My Passport Wireless Pro has wireless connectivity as well as an SD card reader onboard to allow users to upload content on the go and access it again just as easily from your other mobile devices and computers.

Wireless connectivity; excellent companion app; built-in battery to take it anywhere

Won't support Time Machine back up on a Mac; Plex experience could be better

An able performer that suits those who need to transfer files quickly, such as photographers out on a shoot. It's ability to use 5GHz band wireless also eliminates the need for cables, yet can deliver the speeds that large files require.

Wireless transfer; Long battery life

Speed limited by hardware

External storage is commonplace now, but traditional standalone storage products sometimes leave a large number of devices hanging. I've got a 2TB external drive plugged into a USB 3 port, for example, which is great for the main PC, but it doesn't help much with the laptop, iPhone and iPad.

Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro 2TB Wireless Hard Drive

If you know a bit of Canadian history and politics, you will realize the province of Quebec is kind of a thing of its own. While the rest of Canada speaks English, have a common law legal system, and believes in a unified country, Quebec speaks French, have a civil law legal system, and always had...
