Sharp enough for this kind of budget lens. Does not perform well in low light but on sunny day or well lit studio or set, it's perfect.

When I bought my alpha-6000 Sony Camera, I wanted a telephoto to extend my reach. After lugging around big DSLR telephotos for years, this one is a dream since it's light and small while delivering excellent pictures.

very nice compliment to the kit lens for my sony A6000 -- picks up at the 55 mm focal length and gives good reach for more distant subjects. this makes for a compact and light weight kit for travel and hiking. focus is fast and accurate. OSS makes for reasonable hand holding of telephoto shots.

I love my Sony NEX camera but for my family needs at school concerts and recitals and such I found my lens to be not much help in getting the close up or pixilated shot when cropping them out of the cast of many. I used the lens at the middle school fall concert .

Really, this is the only Sony NEX e-mount alternative for a decent telephoto. It's quite sharp but at the long end of the zoom the aperture is quite restricted and require some manual compensation in certain conditions.
